Wenn \u00fcber Grime \u2013 die laut Sibylle Berg \u201ebeste britische Erfindung seit Punk\u201c \u2013 gesprochen und geschrieben wird, ist oft von Aggression die Rede. Von der Wut einer von der Gesellschaft zur\u00fcckgelassenen Arbeiterklasse. Die gibt es auf \u201eProle Art Threat\u201c, dem neuen Projekt von Anthoney Hart aka East Man, mehr als genug. Der Londoner Grime-Produzent ist aber vielmehr ein Meister eines anderen Aspekts dieser Musik: der Klaustrophobie. <\/p>\n<p>Einen Namen machte sich Hart als Drum-&#038;-Bass-DJ \u2013 der klaustrophobischsten aller hedonistischen Tanzmusiken. Unter dem Produzenten-Namen Basic Rhythm erkundete er erst abstrakte Electronica, nur um in den Nullerjahren wieder auf die engen Dancefloors zur\u00fcckzukehren. Diese digitale Stressmusik pr\u00e4gt seine seit 2018 erscheinenden Grime-Produktionen ungemein \u2013 auch wenn sie im vergleichsweise langsamen Tempo daherkommen. Ein East-Man-Track klingt gerne so, als w\u00fcrde man langsam unter dem Gewicht einer herabgest\u00fcrzten LED-Werbefl\u00e4che ersticken. <\/p>\n<h4><strong>Klaustrophobie als globales Lebensgef\u00fchl<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Doch die beklemmenden Beats sind nur ein Teil des East-Man-Konzepts. Auf \u201eProle Art Threat\u201c \u2013 benannt nach einem Song von Mark E. Smith, dem entfernten Gro\u00dfonkel des Grime \u2013 versammelt er eine beeindruckende Riege an MCs, die seine digitale Beklemmung in expressive Bedrohungen verwandeln. Die Londonerin Ny Ny benutzt in \u201eWho Am I\u201c die Silben ihres eigenen Namens, um eine frustrierte Geschichte \u00fcber Identit\u00e4t zu erz\u00e4hlen. Streema, ein junges Talent aus dem s\u00fcd\u00f6stlichen Stadtteil Lewisham, klingt im Opener \u201eKnow Like Dat\u201c gleichzeitig selbstbewusst und komplett atemlos. Und der brasilianische Newcomer Fernando Kep demonstriert in \u201eOuroboros\u201c, dass es hier um mehr als nur London geht.
