Von der Musikindustrie und dem untrennbar mit ihr verwobenen Kapitalismus. \u201eWir sehnen uns nach Utopien, nach Frei- und nach Zwischenr\u00e4umen. Stattdessen bekommen wir nur noch Verwertbarkeit und Verkaufsstrategien als Antwort\u201c, sagt die Musikerin. Seit \u00fcber 20 Jahren sucht die 1975 im damaligen Ost-Berlin geborene K\u00fcnstlerin nach diesen Utopien. Erst mit dem wortlosen Post-Rock ihrer Bands Mina und Contriva, dann in zahlreichen Soloalben unter dem Namen Masha Qrella. Auf diesen sang sie auf Englisch, der Universalsprache der Popmusik. Ihre neueste LP ist ihr erster Langspieler auf Deutsch \u2013 und scheint besagte Verkaufsstrategien und Verwertbarkeitsanspr\u00fcche bewusst zu ignorieren. <\/p>\n<p>Das auf den ersten Blick ungriffigste Element von \u201eWoanders\u201c sind die Texte: Diese stammen allesamt vom in Feuilleton-Kreisen gefeierten, aber in der Popkultur wenig pr\u00e4senten Dichter Thomas Brasch. Auch dieser war in seiner Kunst auf der Suche nach Utopien. Der 1945 im englischen Exil geborene Sohn j\u00fcdischer Emigrant*innen wuchs in der DDR auf und verbrachte wegen seiner systemkritischen Dramen 77 Tage im Gef\u00e4ngnis. Der von der Stasi als \u201eFeind der DDR\u201c klassifizierte Dissident emigrierte 1976 in die BRD, wo er bis zu seinem Tod 2001 als freier Autor, Dichter und Regisseur arbeitete. In seinen Werken setzte er sich mit der Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft eines zerrissenen Deutschlands auseinander.  <\/p>\n<h4><strong>Vertr\u00e4umtes Generationentreffen<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Qrella umarmt auf ihrem neuen Album \u201eWoanders\u201c die Zeilen Braschs mit einer Mischung aus k\u00fchler Elektronik und warmen Gitarren, ausschweifend den \u00c4ther erkundenden Synthesizern und nah am Ohr klebendem Gesang. Sie bringt seine Verse zum Singen. Aus S\u00e4tzen wie \u201eIch besinge die Rinde der B\u00e4ume und warte bei Dir\u201c wird Musik f\u00fcr nachmittern\u00e4chtliche Stadt-Spazierg\u00e4nge. Dunkel, wabernd, mysteri\u00f6s. <\/p>\n<p>Komplettiert wird das Album von den Gastauftritten: Dirk von Lowtzows Bariton schmiegt sich in \u201eDas Meer\u201c an Qrellas Alt-Stimme. Ja-Panik-S\u00e4nger Andreas Spechtl steuert in \u201eMaschinen\u201c dem Titel angemessenen Roboter-Gesang bei. In \u201eM\u00e4rchen\u201c spricht Braschs Schwester Marion (durch deren eigenen Roman \u201eAb jetzt ist Ruhe\u201c Qrella auf Brasch aufmerksam wurde) ein paar Zeilen im Loop. \u201eWoanders\u201c eine Utopie zu nennen, f\u00fchlt sich nicht ganz richtig an. Daf\u00fcr ist das Album zu introspektiv, zu vertr\u00e4umt. Doch ein faszinierender Zwischenraum, in dem K\u00fcnstler*innen unterschiedlicher Generationen gemeinsam wunderbare Kunst erschaffen, ist es auf jeden Fall. <\/p>\n<p>Ver\u00f6ffentlichung: 19.
