Angus Andrew, Kopf und einziges festes Mitglied der experimentellen Rockband Liars, hat mit \u201eThe Apple Drop\u201c ein neues Album angek\u00fcndigt. Eine Vorabsingle gibt es auch schon. Sie tr\u00e4gt den Titel \u201eSekwar\u201c und ist heute erschienen.<\/p>\n

\u201eThe Apple Drop\u201c folgt auf die beiden Longplayer \u201eTFCF<\/a>\u201c (2017) und \u201eTitles With The Word Fountain\u201c (2018), die eher als Soloalben von Angus Andres angesehen werden k\u00f6nnen. Doch diesmal ist der Musiker die Sache etwas anders angegangen, und hat sich Avantgarde-Jazz-Schlagzeuger Laurence Pike, den Musiker Cameron Deyell und die Texterin Mary Pearson mit ins Boot geholt. \u201eZum ersten Mal habe ich mich von Anfang an auf eine Kollaboration eingelassen, und es zugelassen, dass die Arbeit anderer meine eigene Arbeit beeinflusst\u201c, so Andrew.<\/p>\n

Von Wurml\u00f6chern und Antidepressiva\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Die Musik basiere zwar auf Studioaufnahmen, allerdings habe die digitale Verarbeitung und Verfremdung der Musik im Computer einen enormen Stellenwert bei der Produktion gehabt, so Andrew. Das Erschaffen der St\u00fccke habe sich angef\u00fchlt, als h\u00e4tte er sie durch ein Wurmloch gezogen, erz\u00e4hlt er. Auch gewisse Substanzen h\u00e4tten dabei eine Rolle gespielt. Seit einigen Jahren habe er seine Angstzust\u00e4nde mit Antidepressiva behandelt. Diese habe er durch Experimente mit Psilocybin allm\u00e4hlich absetzen k\u00f6nnen. \u201eMir wurde klar, dass ich ein musikalisches Dokument entwickelt hatte, das die Entwicklung der neuronalen Muster meines Gehirns abbildet\u201c, verr\u00e4t der Musiker. \u201eEs f\u00fchlte sich wie eine Reise an und ich begann, \u201eThe Apple Drop\u201c gleichzeitig als Ausgangspunkt und Ziel zu sehen.\u201c<\/p>\n
