Unser Track des Tages \u201eTelly\u201c von der S\u00e4ngerin und Songschreiberin Amindi hat einen simplen, aber effektiven Groove. Kalifornisch-entspannt, k\u00f6nnte man sagen. Amindi Kiara Frost ist in Ecken des US-Bundesstaates Kalifornien aufgewachsen, aus denen \u00fcberhaupt einige der spannendsten HipHop- und R&B-Beats und -Tracks kommen. Denn die Tochter jamaikanischer Einwander*innen hat ihre Kindheit und Jugend in Hawthorne und Inglewood verbracht, woher unter anderem die Rapper Tyler, The Creator und<\/a> D Smoke sowie dessen Bruder<\/a>, der S\u00e4nger SiR, stammen. Von den Genannten steht wohl der letztere Amindi musikalisch am n\u00e4chsten, denn beide S\u00e4nger*innen machen R&B jenseits der g\u00e4ngigen Pfade.<\/p>\n

Doch der musikalische Stil, den Amindi f\u00fcr sich gefunden hat, ist eigentlich eine ziemlich individuelle Handschrift. Von aktueller Singer-Songwriter-Musik in Schlafzimmerpop-Lo-Fi-\u00c4sthetik ist ihre Musik beinahe genauso stark beeinflusst wie von R&B. Dazu gesellen sich auch Spuren ihres jamaikanischen Hintergrundes. Das ist der S\u00e4ngerin wichtig, weil sie in einer \u00fcberwiegend lateinamerikanisch gepr\u00e4gten Umgebung aufgewachsen ist. Als afro-karibische US-Amerikanerin war sie dort Teil einer Minderheit innerhalb einer Minderheit. Besonders deutlich wird dieser Bezug in ihrem 2017er Song \u201ePine & Ginger\u201c, der nach einem jamaikanischen Getr\u00e4nk benannt ist. Auch der Beat klang nach zeitgen\u00f6ssischem jamaikanischem Pop. Im vergangenen Jahr hingegen packte sie die Gitarre aus und klang auf ihrer 2020er EP \u201eMinztape\u201c bisweilen fast schon nach Neo-Soul. Unser heutiger Track des Tages wiederum ist Alternative-R&B mit einem leichten Fr\u00fchlingsgroove.<\/p>\n
