Nachdem die britische Rapperin und S\u00e4ngerin sich zwei Jahre lang im Hintergrund gehalten hatte, hat sie nun im Laufe weniger Wochen mehrere Singles ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Das erweckt den Anschein, dass da bald vielleicht auch ein neues Album kommen k\u00f6nnte. Und in der Tat deuten auch die sp\u00e4rlichen Infos auf ihrer Homepage darauf hin, wenn auch etwas vage. Von einem kommenden Deb\u00fctalbum ist dort die Rede, was angesichts der Longplayer-Diskografie der K\u00fcnstlerin aus Gro\u00dfbritannien irritieren mag. Doch gerade im HipHop und R&amp;B sind die Grenzen zwischen Album und \u201eMixtape\u201c gerne einmal flie\u00dfend. Und das sind schon noch irgendwie die Kern-Genres von Diana de Brito alias IAMDDB. Doch Kern-Genre, Schmern-Genre: De Brito bleibt ohnehin nie lange bei ein und derselben \u00c4sthetik stehen.<\/p>\n<p>In ihrer neuesten Inkarnation kommt IAMDDB mit einem slickeren Sound daher als zuvor. Wom\u00f6glich zielt die in Manchester aufgewachsene K\u00fcnstlerin mit ihrem neuen Material auf die Mainstream-Charts. Was ein Beweggrund sein k\u00f6nnte, ihre Underground-LPs als blo\u00dfe Mixtapes abzutun. Doch auch mit fetterer Produktion klingen ihre Songs alles andere als gew\u00f6hnlich. \u201eSilver Lines\u201c aus diesem August ist ein Club-Track irgendwo zwischen Kaytranada und Tame Impala. Das Duett \u201eFalling\u201c mit Prettyboy D-O hingegen klingt nach nigerianischen Afrobeats. Wie der US-Nigerianer hat auch Diana de Brito eine famili\u00e4re Verbindung zum afrikanischen Kontinent. Denn die Engl\u00e4nderin wurde in Portugal als Tochter eines Angolaners geboren. Und auch unser Track des Tages zeigt Spuren von <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/dip-stefflon-don-ms-banks-115044\/\">Afrobeats, aber auch Dancehall<\/a>. Dabei kommen in dem selbstbewussten, k\u00f6rperlichen Club-Track Groove und Experiment so effektiv zusammen, wie man es nur selten h\u00f6rt.<\/p>\n<p>Ein Album von IAMDDB soll in n\u00e4herer Zukunft auf dem Label W\u00e6v Entertainment erscheinen.
