Im April erscheint das Album auf dem Label Secretly Canadian und folgt ihrem Deb\u00fct \u201eKeepsake\u201c aus dem Jahr 2019. Schon damals bewies die australische S\u00e4ngerin, Songwriterin und Musikerin eine eigene k\u00fcnstlerische Handschrift. Aus ihren Popsongs wurde auf ihrem ersten Album ein Faible f\u00fcr Shoegaze- und Dreampop-Bands wie The Jesus And Mary Chain und Cocteau Twins deutlich. Der Gitarrist letzterer, Robin Guthrie, fand Hatchies Musik tats\u00e4chlich so gut, dass er schon vor dem Deb\u00fctalbum ihren Song \u201eSure\u201c pers\u00f6nlich remixte. In den Singles, die Hatchie seither ver\u00f6ffentlicht hat, ist sie nicht beim Albumsound stagniert, sondern macht immer wieder neue musikalische Bereiche f\u00fcr sich urbar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eThis Enchanted\u201c etwa klang zugleich nach dem Krach von My Bloody Valentine und Pop \u00e0 la Saint Etienne; \u201eQuicksand\u201c bewegte sich zuletzt irritierend in Richtung Mainstream. In unserem heutigen Track des Tages mischen sich angezerrte 80er-Underground-Gitarren mit Breitwand-Klavier und einem Four-to-the-floor-Beat. Im unteren Midtempo-Bereich groovend, klingt der allerdings eher nach einer Schnittstelle zwischen Dub und Rock als nach Techno oder House. Dazu gesellen sich wie Echos aus einer unbeschwerteren Vergangenheit ein paar melancholische verlangsamte Kuhglocken und Disco-Piano-Sprengsel. In diesem atmosph\u00e4rischen Gewand spiegelt sich denn auch der textliche Inhalt des Songs, der davon handelt, in Zeiten der Depression gut zu sich selbst zu sein.<\/p>\n<p>Das Album \u201eGiving The World Away\u201c von Hatchie erscheint am 22.
