The Beatles wussten auch schon ein halbes Jahrhundert vor Sia, dass sich Liebe nicht kaufen l\u00e4sst. Die Romantisierung von Armut scheint fest mit der Pop-Musik verbunden zu sein. Welch poetische, tiefgr\u00fcndige Statements, geschrieben aus der Perspektive von Multi-Million\u00e4r*innen. Angesichts der tats\u00e4chlichen Lebensrealit\u00e4t von Menschen, die unterhalb des Existenzminimums leben, ist dieser Pseudo-Working-Class-Kitsch extrem anbiedernd. <\/p>\n<p>Auch \u201eGet On The Otherside\u201c, das zweite Album von Bobby Oroza, beginnt mit diesem potentiell schlimmen Klischee: \u201eI don\u2019t make much money\u201c, sinniert der finnische Singer-Songwriter, \u201ebut still I\u2019m as rich as I can be\u201c. Warum? \u201eBecause I got love.\u201c Doch bevor das kollektive Seufzen losgeht, sollte man einmal genauer schauen, wer hier eigentlich gerade singt. Oroza ist n\u00e4mlich kein gepuderter Platinum-K\u00fcnstler. Als die Corona-Pandemie 2020 seine Existenzgrundlage infrage stellte, konnte er sich nicht einfach f\u00fcr ein paar Monate in seiner Villa in den Hollywood Hills zur\u00fccklehnen. Stattdessen musste der Musiker, der gerade erst Vater geworden war, sich als Bauarbeiter verdingen.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Zarter Working-Class-R&#038;B<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Macht Orozas tats\u00e4chlicher Arbeiterklassen-Hintergrund ihn zu einem besseren Songwriter? Nat\u00fcrlich nicht. Aber zu einem authentischeren. \u201eGet On The Otherside\u201c ist eine sehr zur\u00fcckgelehnte Angelegenheit. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/news\/bytefm-session-309-bobby-oroza-94223\/\">Orozas Falsett-Crooning<\/a> ist noch zarter als auf dem Vorg\u00e4nger \u201eThis Love\u201c. Seine Retro-Soul-Gitarrenzaubereien t\u00e4nzeln um die Stimme, ohne sich in den Vordergrund zu dr\u00e4ngen. Die Oroza schon auf dem Vorg\u00e4nger begleitende Rhythmusgruppe Cold Diamond &#038; Mink spielt \u00e4hnlich bedacht, fast schon wie auf Zehenspitzen. Die musikalischen Referenzen stammen klar aus der alten Soul-Schule von Stax oder Motown. Doch das Feuer von Acts wie Otis Redding wird gegen eine sehr bedachte Zur\u00fcckhaltung getauscht. Dieser sanfte Throwback-R&#038;B strahlt eine angenehme Bescheidenheit aus, die perfekt mit Orozas Poesie harmoniert. \u201eI don\u2019t need to make a mill\u2019 for myself\u201c, singt er sp\u00e4ter in \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/news\/i-got-love-neuer-song-von-bobby-oroza-songpremiere-108558\/\">I Got Love<\/a>\u201c, \u201eIn a world that\u2019s driven for the fame\u201c.
