Bislang hatte die Alternative-R&amp;B-S\u00e4ngerin aus S\u00fcdlondon ihre Musik im Selbstverlag herausgebracht. Doch nun ist Brownswood, das Label des britischen DJs und Musik-F\u00f6rderers Gilles Peterson auf die K\u00fcnstlerin aufmerksam geworden. Peterson geh\u00f6rt als Radio-Moderator, Club-DJ und Label-Betreiber seit den 1980er-Jahren zu den wichtigsten Kapazit\u00e4ten in Gro\u00dfbritannien, wenn es um Jazz und Funk im weitesten Sinne geht.
