Die Ver\u00f6ffentlichung ihres letzten Longplayers ist noch nicht lange her: Erst im Juli brachte das kalifornische Quartett aus Los Angeles sein achtes Album mit dem sch\u00f6nen Titel \u201eMisadventures Of Doomscroller\u201c heraus. Es war gewisserma\u00dfen ein Konzeptalbum, auch wenn es nicht \u2013 wie der Titel vielleicht nahelegt \u2013 eine durchgehende Geschichte erz\u00e4hlt. Ein Konzept der LP war, sich vom Minimalismus, auf den die Band stolz war, zu verabschieden und sich stattdessen in Maximalismus zu \u00fcben. Als weiteres Konzept hatten sie beschlossen, sich zwar bei der Album-, nicht aber bei den Songl\u00e4ngen zu beschr\u00e4nken. Das Ergebnis klang nach Westcoast-Rock der 70er, nach guten Momenten von Jackson Browne oder Santana.<\/p>\n<p>Unser heutiger Track des Tages h\u00e4tte in das Album nun so gar nicht reingepasst. Das klang n\u00e4mlich nach vier Musikern, die Spa\u00df an ihren Konzepten hatten, nach Spielfreude und inspiriertem Songwriting. Eine Wonne, da zuzuh\u00f6ren, aber gerade deshalb ist unser Track des Tages so inkompatibel mit der LP. Denn ihre neue Single ist ein zwar sch\u00f6nes, aber auch beklemmendes St\u00fcck. Erschienen am 14. Dezember 2022, dem zehnten Jahrestag des Amoklaufs an der Sandy-Hook-Grundschule, handelt es vom \u201eunvorstellbaren Trauerprozess, den ein Elternteil nach einer solch unvorstellbaren Gr\u00e4ueltat durchmachen muss\u201c. \u201eEs ist ein trauriges Lied\u201c, sagt S\u00e4nger und Gitarrist Taylor Dawes Goldsmith. \u201e[I]ch hoffe, Ihr findet darin Bedeutung f\u00fcr Euch. Ein kleiner Versuch, die Menschlichkeit in solcherlei Nachrichten zur\u00fcckzubringen, von denen mit zur Abstumpfung f\u00fchrender Regelm\u00e4\u00dfigkeit berichtet wird.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Der Song \u201eThe Interest Of Time\u201c von Dawes ist auf dem Label Hub Records \/ Rounder Records erschienen.
