Zwar bewegen sich Jess Berry und Graham Godfrey noch immer im Bereich des alternativen R&amp;B, doch die Sto\u00dfrichtung hat sich zumindest auf diesem einen ihrer zwei neuen Songs deutlich ge\u00e4ndert. Denn w\u00e4hrend Thandii seit ihrem ersten Minialbum \u201eSerious Town\u201c meist sanft und psychedelisch grooven, kommt die verzerrte Bassline unseres Tracks des Tages einem Nasenst\u00fcber gleich. Ungef\u00e4hr vom gleichen Kaliber wie Little Simz&#8216; \u201eBoss\u201c, konterkariert ihr Wummern \u00fcber einem Old-School-Breakbeat den freundlichen Gesang. Schlie\u00dflich ist dessen Botschaft auch nur scheinbar nett.<\/p>\n<p>Denn auch wenn die Aufforderung, zu l\u00e4cheln, unter Umst\u00e4nden nett sein kann (beispielsweise wenn sie im richtigen Moment von einer vertrauten Person kommt), ist sie hier eher bedrohlich. Jess Berry singt die Worte n\u00e4mlich aus der Perspektive eines wildfremden Mannes, den sie passiert, gefolgt von weiteren \u00fcbergriffigen platten \u201eSchmeicheleien\u201c. Nat\u00fcrlich reagiert sie nicht mit dem eingeforderten L\u00e4cheln auf diese Bel\u00e4stigung. Sondern tut so, als sei sie in ein Telefonat vertieft, um das Risiko, von dem Mann verfolgt zu werden, kleiner zu Halten.
