Bei dem Duo von einer \u201eSupergroup\u201c zu sprechen, ginge vielleicht etwas zu weit. Nichtsdestotrotz handelt es sich bei dieser Paarung um einen in Erf\u00fcllung gegangenen Traum, von dem viele Psych-Pop-Fans gar nicht wussten, dass sie ihn gehegt hatten. Denn beide Mitglieder haben jeweils bei mindestens einer der prominentesten Bands Australiens das internationale Psych-Geschehen mitgepr\u00e4gt. Zum einen sind das nat\u00fcrlich Tame Impala. Mittlerweile ist das zwar mehr oder minder das Projekt von Kevin Parker, dessen Ruhm aber nicht auf Solopfaden begann. Zu Tame Impalas Livebesetzung geh\u00f6rt etwa noch immer das Gr\u00fcndungsmitglied Jay Watson. Der spielt seit 2008 zudem noch bei der Band Pond und weil das nicht reicht, hat er auch noch f\u00fcnf Soloalben als Gum herausgebracht.<\/p>\n<p>Was seinen Gesang angeht, ist Watson nicht immer so richtig selbstbewusst. Die Position am Mikro nicht bekleiden zu m\u00fcssen, war eine der Freuden der Zusammenarbeit mit Ambrose Kenny-Smith. Der singt und spielt diverse Instrumente bei der dritten international erfolgreichen Psych-Band von Down Under: King Gizzard &amp; The Lizard Wizard. Die sind nicht minder produktiv als Watson mit seinen Bands und Projekten. 23 Alben haben sie seit 2012 herausgebracht, allein f\u00fcnf davon im Jahr 2022. Trotzdem scheinen ihnen sowenig die Ideen auszugehen wie den Mitgliedern der Tatendrang. Die erste Zusammenarbeit von Kenny-Smith und Watson zeitigte nun zwei inspirierte, funky rockende Songs. Nach eigenem Bekunden haben die beiden auch schon Lust auf mehr, wie beispielsweise ein gemeinsames Album.
