Die Musik von Jamalifard war schon immer exzentrisch. Mit ihrer Band Habibi spielt sie ein Amalgam aus Garage-Rock, Psychedelia und iranischer Folklore. Doch die erste LP unter eigenem Namen ist noch deutlich wuseliger und verspielter als die Musik, die sie mit ihren Mitmusikerinnen Lenaya Lynch, Lyla Vander, Ana Becker und Yukary macht. Die Melodien und Hooks sind oftmals von einem Dickicht aus Samples umgeben. St\u00e4ndig rauscht, blubbert oder murmelt es im Hintergrund.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Rauschen, Blubbern, Murmeln<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Was diese Songs nicht davon abh\u00e4lt, extrem catchy zu sein. F\u00fcr \u201eFlowers At Your Feet\u201c hat Jamalifard dem Garage-Rock ihrer Band abgeschworen, stattdessen umarmt sie den psychedelischen Klangkosmos. Das Album beginnt mit Ambient-Space-Jazz (\u201eHealing\u201c), nur um sp\u00e4ter Stereolab-esken Avant-Lounge-Pop (\u201eHesitations\u201c) und vertr\u00e4umten Dub (\u201eTell Me\u201c) zu explorieren. Die Singles \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/i-smile-for-e-rahill-track-des-tages-130574\/\">I Smile For E<\/a>\u201c und die Beck-Zusammenarbeit \u201eFables\u201c spannen den Bogen zwischen 90er-Jahre-Neo-Psychedelia aus der Primal-Scream-Schule und verstrahltem Nullerjahre-Indie-Pop \u00e0 la MGMT oder Peter Bjorn And John. Die weit ausholenden Referenzen werden von Jamalifards exzellentem Gesp\u00fcr f\u00fcr Melodien zusammengehalten \u2013 in jedem dieser 14 Songs l\u00e4sst sich mindestens eine unvergessliche Hookline finden. <\/p>\n<p>Au\u00dferdem handelt es sich hier bei dem omnipr\u00e4senten Sampling-Gewusel nicht um L\u00e4rm des L\u00e4rms wegen. \u201eFlowers At Your Feet\u201c ist ein Album \u00fcber Familie, Liebe und Verlust \u2013 und diese Themen werden von den externen Klangelementen unterstrichen. Im Opener \u201eHealing\u201c ert\u00f6nt im Hintergrund ein Audioschnipsel aus einem Kindheitsvideo. \u00c4hnliches passiert in \u201eI Smile For E\u201c, ein musikalischer Abschiedsbrief an Jamalifards verstorbene Tante \u2013 deren Gesangsstimme hier als Sample verewigt wurde. Field-Recordings sorgen f\u00fcr ein nostalgisches Raumgef\u00fchl \u2013 auch wenn man diese Orte selbst noch nie gesehen bzw. erlebt hat.
