Bereits im November 2022 erschien das St\u00fcck als erstes wirkliches Solowerk dieser zentralen Gestalt der UK-Reggae- und Punk-Szene. Zwar war Letts schon seit den 70ern ein Dreh- und Angelpunkt des Londoner Undergrounds, doch eher als DJ, Dokumentarfilmer und Sampler-Operator bei Big Audio Dynamite, einem Spin-off von The Clash. Zwar beteiligte sich Letts 2022 auch einer Dub-Version von Big Audio Dynamites Hit \u201eE=MC2\u201c, allerdings eher im Hintergrund. Auf seiner ersten Solo-Single wagte er erstmals den Schritt ans Mic und stellte sich im Erz\u00e4hltonfall einer Welt vor, die sich seit den 70ern stark gewandelt hat. Hier spricht ein Vinylk\u00e4ufer, der sich im TikTok-Zeitalter neu orientiert.<\/p>\n<p>Das Instrumental ist ein moderner Dub-Riddim, der aber wie auch Letts selbst aus einer reichen Vergangenheit sch\u00f6pft. Vor allem klingen die analogen Roots-Reggae-Tage aus der Plattenrille, doch auch vor der Funk-Hymne \u201eLow Rider\u201c von War verneigt sich das St\u00fcck melodisch. Auch wenn Letts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/wrong-don-letts-track-des-tages-128307\/\">an anderer Stelle<\/a> auch \u201erichtig\u201c singt, zeigt gerade dieser Track das Anliegen des K\u00fcnstlers. So beschreibt dieser das Album als \u201eSoundtrack meiner Gedanken mit coolen Bass-Lines. Er spiegelt die Summe meiner kulturellen Reise und die Dualit\u00e4t meiner Existenz wider, die Schwarz und britisch ist.\u201c W\u00e4hrend die Albumver\u00f6ffentlichung auf den September geschoben wurde, gibt es nun einen neuen Remix des Titelst\u00fccks von Mexican Institute Of Sound. Das DJ-Duo aus Mexiko-Stadt verdeutlicht die Parallelen zwischen Cumbia und Reggae und l\u00e4sst den Song noch frischer erscheinen.<\/p>\n<p>Das Album \u201eOutta Sync\u201c von Don Letts erscheint am 29.
