Gerade erst im Februar 2023 hat die US-amerikanische Musikerin und S\u00e4ngerin ihr Album \u201eDesire, I Want To Turn Into You\u201c ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Nach einer LP unter dem Preudonym Ramona Lisa von 2014 und einem Ambient-Album als CEP war dies Polacheks zweiter Longplayer unter ihrem Klarnamen. Zuvor sang die K\u00fcnstlerin aus New York in der Synth-Pop-Band Chairlift. Obwohl die Gruppe ihre poppigen Momente hatte, blieb sie bis zuletzt experimentell und offen in ihrem Pop-Ansatz. Mal klangen sie fast nach einer Rockband, mal eher nach R&amp;B. Zwar zeitigte das offene, sich stets entwickelnde Konzept auch zunehmend kommerzielle Erfolge, aber dennoch gingen die Bandmitglieder ab 2017 getrennter Wege.<\/p>\n<p>Zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter kehrte Polachek zur\u00fcck mit der LP \u201ePang\u201c. Nach der Bandaufl\u00f6sung hatte sie immer enger mit dem Hyperpop-Kollektiv PC Music gearbeitet. Aus diesem Umfeld stammen auch Danny L Harle und A. G. Cook, die sich an der Produktion von \u201ePang\u201c beteiligten. Ersterer geh\u00f6rte auch zum Produktionsteam zu Polacheks bislang gr\u00f6\u00dftem Wurf \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/sendungen\/school-of-rock\/2023-01-29\/22\/caroline-polachek-2008-2023\/\">Desire, I Want To Turn Into You<\/a>\u201c. Darauf h\u00f6ren wir zwar auch noch ein paar avantgardistische Experimente, doch besonders strahlt die LP in ihren zahlreichen gewagten Pop-Momenten. \u00dcbriggeblieben aus diesen Sessions war ein Song, den Polachek mit Harle und der Kanadierin Cecile Believe produziert hat. Das skelettale, bassige Clubst\u00fcck mit teils gerappten impressionistischen Lyrics hat sie nun als Single herausgebracht. Es h\u00e4tte auch einer der herausragenden Albumsongs sein k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Single \u201eDang\u201c von Caroline Polachek ist auf dem Label Perpetual Novice erschienen.
