Bereits im Januar k\u00fcndigte die US-amerikanische Band mit der Single \u201eA Love International\u201c die LP an. \u201eA La Sala\u201c ist der vierte Longplayer des Trios aus Houston, Texas, zumindest, wenn man das 2023er Album \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/tongo-barra-khruangbin-vieux-farka-toure-125773\/\">Ali<\/a>\u201c nicht mitrechnet. Darauf schrieben und performten Khruangbin die Songs mit dem malischen S\u00e4nger und Gitarristen Vieux Farka Tour\u00e9. Benannt war es nach Tour\u00e9s Vater Ali, einem der wichtigsten \u201eDesert-Blues\u201c-Musiker, dessen Spiel auch Khruangbins Gitarristen Mark Speer h\u00f6rbar beeinflusst hat. Daneben geh\u00f6rten bislang obskure Thai-Funk-Platten zu den Inspirationen der Band, wie \u00fcberhaupt alles, was irgendwie Soul hat, sei es HipHop, Funk, Dub oder Folk. Wenngleich die Band ihren musikalischen Fokus auf jedem Album subtil verschiebt, bleibt ihre Handschrift klar erkennbar. Dazu geh\u00f6rt Donald Johnsons minimalistisch-relaxtes Schlagzeugspiel, Laura Lees warm-pr\u00e4zise Bass-Grooves und Speers zuweilen gesch\u00e4ftiges, aber songdienliches Gitarrenspiel.<\/p>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend anfangs die Gitarre meist auch die Funktion der Gesangsstimme \u00fcbernahm, etablierte sich Laura Lee sp\u00e4testens 2020 auf der dritten LP \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/news\/khruangbin-mordechai-rezension-102145\/\">Mordechai<\/a>\u201c als Leads\u00e4ngerin. So \u00fcberraschte es ein wenig, dass die Leadsingle von \u201eA La Sala\u201c kein Banger \u00e0 la \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/news\/khruangbin-a-la-sala-neues-album-140210\/\">Time (You And I)<\/a>\u201c war, sondern ein atmosph\u00e4risches Instrumental. Doch andererseits erschlie\u00dft sich der Zauber von Khruangbins Musik weder beim fl\u00fcchtigen ersten Dr\u00fcberh\u00f6ren noch durch auff\u00e4llige Gesangs-Hooks. Aber wer sich ihrem Sog hingibt, wird mit einem steten Quell wohltuender Ohrw\u00fcrmer belohnt. Beinahe noch flauschiger als sonst gibt sich die Band in unserem Track des Tages, in dem sie den Mai herbeisehnt. Dieses Mal auch wieder mit Gesang.<\/p>\n<p>Das Album \u201eA La Sala\u201c von Khruangbin erscheint am 5. April 2024 auf dem Label Dead Oceans.
