Die S\u00e4ngerin und Musikerin entstammt der DIY-Szene von Birmingham, Alabama. Inspiriert durch das Songwriting von Musikerinnen wie Liz Phair oder Fiona Apple, machte sie sich schnell selbst einen Namen in Birmingham. Dort supportete sie unter anderem Clairo und Soccer Mommy und ver\u00f6ffentlichte w\u00e4hrend der Highschool zwei erste Singles. Auch die meisten Songs der EP entstanden noch w\u00e4hrend ihrer Schulzeit. F\u00fcr die Aufnahmen pendelte sie immer wieder f\u00fcr einzelne Sessions nach Atlanta, statt sich l\u00e4nger im Studio einzumieten. Die f\u00fcnf dabei entstandenen Songs bebildern gelungen die Teenage-Angst-Emotionsachterbahnfahrt.<\/p>\n<p>Nach der atmosph\u00e4rischen Bedroom-Pop-Ballade \u201eElliot\u201c ist unser Track des Tages die zweite Auskopplung von \u201eI Tried To Freeze Light, But Only Remember A Girl\u201c. Klanglich inspirierten Jahnah (sprich: \u201eHannah\u201c) h\u00f6rbar Alternative-Rock-Aufnahmen aus den 90ern. Aber auch die romantische Tragikom\u00f6die \u201eAbout Time\u201c (deutsch: \u201eAlles eine Frage der Zeit\u201c) spielte eine tragende Rolle. \u201eDarin geht es um einen jungen Mann, der herausfindet, dass die M\u00e4nner in seiner Familie durch die Zeit reisen k\u00f6nnen\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt sie. \u201eEr nutzt diese F\u00e4higkeit letztlich, um achtsam und absichtsvoll zu leben. Der Song handelt von meiner eigenen Beziehung zur Absicht.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Die EP \u201eI Tried To Freeze Light, But Only Remember A Girl\u201c von Jahnah Camille erscheint am 21. Juni 2024 auf dem Label Winspear. Der Song \u201eFlesh\u201c daraus ist heute unser Track des Tages.
