Nachdem das New Yorker Duo Anfang 2024 die Dreampop-Single \u201eGilded Lily\u201c herausgebracht hatte, verk\u00fcndete es im April einen Kurswechsel. So markierte die n\u00e4chste Single \u201eCrybaby\u201c laut der Band den Beginn einer \u201eneuen Forschungsrichtung. Wir haben mit einem leichteren Sound experimentiert, der von The Crystals, Joe Meek und Kraftwerk beeinflusst ist.\u201c Mit der aktuellen Single stellen Madeline Follin und Brian Oblivion nun ein ganzes Album in Aussicht. \u201eTo The Ghosts\u201c erscheint im Juli 2024 und folgt ihrem vierten Longplayer \u201eHost\u201c aus dem Jahr 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Im Kontext des Albums beschreibt Oblivion die Lead-Single als \u201eLichtblick\u201c. Thematisch f\u00fcgt sich das St\u00fcck ziemlich gut in ein Album, das auf den Titel \u201eTo The Ghosts\u201c h\u00f6rt. Denn unser Track des Tages sei \u201emit einer gewissen Z\u00e4rtlichkeit dem Geist Deiner Highschool-Erinnerungen gewidmet\u201c. So erinnert sich der Musiker an ein Gef\u00fchl des Zur\u00fcckgelassenwerdens: \u201eDu denkst, Du verpasst etwas und erreichst zu wenig.\u201c Erst mit dem Abstand des Alters kommt die Einsicht: \u201eAlles, wor\u00fcber man sich fr\u00fcher Sorgen gemacht hat, spielt keine Rolle mehr. Man f\u00fchlt sich dort wohl, wo man ist. Es ist befreiend, von dem Gef\u00fchl loszulassen, dass man zu etwas dazugeh\u00f6ren muss.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Das Album \u201eTo The Ghosts\u201c von Cults erscheint am 26.
