Zum Indie-Vibe der Jangle-Pop-Arpeggien und Unterwassergitarren gesellen sich im Intro des Songs stadionrocktaugliche Schlagzeugwirbel, unterf\u00fcttert von dramatischen Wave-Synths. Doch der Versuchung, in laute Rock-Riffs auszubrechen, widersteht das Trio mit Disziplin und Stil. Letztlich ist gerade ein solches Spannungsfeld besonders fruchtbar, das entsteht, wenn Melodie und Rhythmus verschiedene Sprachen sprechen. Gelegentlich hat das bei der Berliner Band etwas von mittleren Simple Minds, ohne den U2-haften Bombast oder von Felt, aber ohne die Grabesschwere. Und anders als bei diesen sich bewusst k\u00fchl inszenierenden 80er-Bands durchzieht das Werk von Meagre Martin eine anheimelnde W\u00e4rme.<\/p>\n<p>Da dieser nette Schein nicht selten tr\u00fcgt, pr\u00e4gte die Band f\u00fcr ihre Musik den Begriff \u201eFaux Country\u201c. Allerdings passt diese Beschreibung besser auf das 2023er Deb\u00fctalbum \u201eGut Punch\u201c. Auf den beiden 2024er Singles \u201eMalcolm\u201c und \u201eNever Thought\u201c hingegen erinnerten sie eher an 90er-Alternative-Rock mit gelegentlichem Shoegaze-Einschlag. Mit unserem Track des Tages k\u00fcndigen sie nun f\u00fcr den Februar 2025 die EP \u201eUp To Snuff\u201c an. Die Single beschreibt die Gruppe als \u201eShoegaze-inspirierte[n] Song mit vertr\u00e4umten Melodien und einem verspielten Rhythmus. Der Text taucht tief in die Rolle eines unterw\u00fcrfigen Partners ein und spricht \u00fcber Verlangen, Vertrauen und Verletzlichkeit. Es ist eine mitrei\u00dfende Hymne, die die aufregende Dynamik von Liebe und Leidenschaft feiert und dazu einl\u00e4dt, die Sch\u00f6nheit der Hingabe zu sp\u00fcren.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Die EP \u201eUp To Snuff\u201c von Meagre Martin erscheint am 14.
