Der Song ist \u201eIncredible\u201c vom Produzenten M-Beat und MC General Levy \u2013 und kam zur Zeit seiner Ver\u00f6ffentlichung 1994 nicht ohne Kontroversen aus. General Levy h\u00e4tte beispielsweise diesen Track eigentlich gar nicht erst aufnehmen d\u00fcrfen. Der 1971 in London geborene Sohn trinidadischer Eltern war zu Beginn der 90er-Jahre beim zum Major London Records geh\u00f6renden Sublabel Fashion Records unter Vertrag. Mit seiner Version des Toots-And-The-Maytals-Tunes \u201eMonkey Man\u201c konnte er 1993 einen kleinen Hit landen, doch so richtig zufrieden war sein Label mit ihm nicht. W\u00e4hrend die M\u00e4nner im Anzug unsicher \u00fcberlegten, was sie mit Levy anfangen sollten, ver\u00f6ffentlichte er auf eigene Faust \u2013 entgegen seines Vertrags \u2013 einen Indie-Track mit dem ebenfalls in London residierenden M-Beat.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>The world is in trouble<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Die Label-Heads waren nicht begeistert, war Jungle 1994 doch noch ein kommerziell irrelevantes Underground-Ph\u00e4nomen \u2013 bis sie realisierten, dass \u201eIncredible\u201c ein unwiderstehlicher Banger war, der auch im Mainstream f\u00fcr Furore sorgen konnte. Ein offiziell ver\u00f6ffentlichter Remix kletterte bis auf Platz 8 der UK-Charts, w\u00e4hrend Levy den Track auf seinen Konzerten bis zu neun Mal hintereinander performte. Kein Wunder, bei der Energie von \u201eIncredible\u201c: Nach besagtem Intro legt der MC in irrem Tempo los: \u201eGeneral Levy alongside the M-Beat \/ The world is in trouble\u201c, toasted er in sich selbst \u00fcberschlagender Geschwindigkeit, begleitet von waghalsigen Drumloops und Jungle-charakteristischem Sub-Bass. Nach einem dieser Konzerte prahlte ein massiv euphorisierter General Levy gegen\u00fcber einem Journalisten: \u201eI run Jungle right now!\u201c Aus dem Kontext gerissen drehten die Jungle-Gatekeeper ihm daraus einen Strick, die Szene verweigerte ihm in den folgenden Jahren den Zutritt. Auch seine Labelchefs f\u00fchrten ihn an der Nase rum: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5GScbYSqYUQ&#038;t=319s\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in einem Interview<\/a> erz\u00e4hlte Levy 2024, dass er bis heute keinen Cent an Tantiemen bekommen habe.<\/p>\n<p>Heute gilt \u201eIncredible\u201c zu Recht als Meilenstein des Jungle \u2013 und ist heute unser Track des Tages.
