Benannt hat sich das schottische Duo nach der Pfeilwurz, einer Pflanze, die ihren Namen als Antidot gegen ein Indio-Pfeilgift bekam. Seit einigen Jahren firmieren Gloria Black und Callum Govan in Edinburgh unter diesem Namen. Schon vor mehr als einem Jahrzehnt begannen sie, die \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/microsteria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsteria<\/a>\u201c zu schmei\u00dfen. So hei\u00dft ihre Clubnacht mit \u201eelektronisch mutierter\u201c Livemusik, erweitert um visuelle und performative Komponenten. Im Jahr 2019 ver\u00f6ffentlichten die beiden dann ihre erste eigene Single \u201eRadiate\u201c. Als Inspirationen nennen sie \u00fcppige 80s-Pop-Kl\u00e4nge und moderne Electronica und m\u00f6chten in ihren Live-Shows Wellen der Energie und Leidenschaft reiten.<\/p>\n<p>Schon im Dezember 2024 k\u00fcndigten Maranta mit dem narrativ-atmosph\u00e4rischen Downtempo-St\u00fcck \u201eInto The Evening\u201c ihr Deb\u00fctalbum \u201eDay Long Dream\u201c an. In unserem Track des Tages nimmt der Wellengang an Fahrt auf. Nach langsamem Anfluten warmer Synths setzt ein Beat mit Nasenst\u00fcber-Snare-Drum ein. Mit dieser \u201eVerk\u00f6rperung des \u201aCome-up\u2018-Moments\u201c zehren sie dramaturgisch von ihren Clubn\u00e4chten. \u00dcber diesen \u201edunklen, verbogenen Synthies und explosiven Percussions\u201c h\u00f6ren wir Blacks k\u00fchlen Gesang. In diesem Spannungsfeld verortet die Band eine \u201eMystik und melodische Substanz, die sich als Anrufung der g\u00f6ttlichen Kr\u00e4fte der Tanzfl\u00e4che manifestieren\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>Das Album \u201eDay Long Dream\u201c von Maranta erscheint im April 2025 auf dem Label Paradise Palms Records. Der vorab als Single ver\u00f6ffentlichte Song \u201eHoly Night\u201c daraus ist heute unser Track des Tages.
