So lud sie unseren heutigen Track des Tages in seiner urspr\u00fcnglichen Form schon Anfang 2017 ins Netz. Zu dem Zeitpunkt hatte die kalifornische K\u00fcnstlerin zumindest solo erst ein Album herausgebracht. Dieses h\u00f6rte auf den Namen \u201eGenevieve Lalala\u201c; aufgenommen hatte sie es weitestgehend im Alleingang. Die wenige Unterst\u00fctzung kam \u00fcberwiegend von Louis Cole, mit dem Artadi einige Jahren zuvor die Band Knower gegr\u00fcndet hatte. Als erste Single des drei Jahre sp\u00e4ter erscheinenden Albums \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/news\/synth-pop-gegen-die-vergaenglichkeit-genevieve-artadi-101523\/\">Dizzy Strange Summer<\/a>\u201c k\u00fcndete das St\u00fcck von einer musikalischen Wandlung. Nicht mehr im Alleingang, sondern mit Studio-Assen wie Sam Wilkes und Tim Lefebvre und nat\u00fcrlich Louis Cole im R\u00fccken, verschwand alle Verwaschenheit des Deb\u00fcts. Zwar hatte \u201eDizzy Strange Summer\u201c auch seine sph\u00e4rischen Augenblicke, aber selbst diese trieften vor Pr\u00e4zision und Selbstbewusstsein.<\/p>\n<p>In der Folge kooperierte Artadi unter anderem mit Thundercat und war mit diesem und Cole <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/satellite-thundercat-insecure-118200\/\">auf dem Soundtrack<\/a> der Serie \u201eInsecure\u201c zu h\u00f6ren. 2023 ver\u00f6ffentlichte sie sowohl die Solo-LP \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/visionary-genevieve-artadi-track-des-tages-129746\/\">Forever Forever<\/a>\u201c als auch \u201eKnower Forever\u201c mit Knower. Trotz ihres DIY-Ansatzes ging die Band auf letzterer mitunter maximalistisch vor. So umfasste die orchestrale Besetzung von \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/im-the-president-knower-track-des-tages-132618\/\">I&#8217;m The President<\/a>\u201c \u00fcber 50 Menschen. Aus Bescheidenheit h\u00e4tte Artadi beinahe eine Stelle als Composer-in-Residence der schwedischen Norrbotten Big Band abgelehnt. Aber nur fast. Letztlich empfand sie die Unternehmung jedoch als \u201eeine der lohnendsten Sachen, die ich je gemacht habe\u201c. Aus der Zusammenarbeit entstand die LP \u201eAnother Leaf\u201c. Selbst erprobte St\u00fccke wie unser Track des Tages stellten Artadi vor neue Herausforderungen: \u201ePers\u00f6nliche Gef\u00fchle durch und an der Seite von 17 Musiker*innen auszudr\u00fccken, erforderte von mir ein tieferes Nachdenken \u00fcber Melodien, Voicings, Instrumentenfarben und dar\u00fcber, wie aus der Summe zusammenh\u00e4ngende Bilder entstehen k\u00f6nnen.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Das Album \u201eAnother Leaf\u201c von Genevieve Artadi und Norrbotten Big Band ist auf dem Label Brainfeeder erschienen.
