Mit unserem heutigen Track des Tages \u201eA Rare Thing\u201c hat der US-amerikanische Rapper Oddisee eine neue EP angek\u00fcndigt. Was immer eine erfreuliche Neuigkeit darstellt, wenn auch keine seltene. Denn in den zwei Jahrzehnten, seit der MC und Beatmaker in Washington, D. C., begann, seine Musik im Selbstverlag zu ver\u00f6ffentlichen, stand Amir Mohamed el Khalifa selten still. So ver\u00f6ffentlichte der Rapper im Jahr 2023 seinen 17. Longplayer \u201eTo What End<\/a>\u201c. Ein Jahr sp\u00e4ter folgte strenggenommen noch ein weiterer Longplayer, aber \u201eOdd Sketches, Vol. 1\u201c war, wie der Name nahelegt, eine Sammlung von Skizzen, die jedoch zum Wegschmei\u00dfen viel zu gut waren. Insofern steht die LP eher in der Tradition von Oddisees sehr h\u00f6renswerten Beat-Tapes. Aber am hellsten strahlt der Rapper dann doch, wenn er nicht blo\u00df organisch swingende Beats zusammenschraubt, sondern am Mikro im Scheinwerferlicht steht. Wobei er nicht zu den MC-Rampens\u00e4uen geh\u00f6rt, die ihr Ego und ihre Skills in den Mittelpunkt r\u00fccken.<\/p>\n

Sicherlich erz\u00e4hlt Oddisee auch aus seinem Leben, wie auf dem tagebuchartigen Selbsttherapiealbum \u201eTo What End\u201c. Doch im Zentrum stehen eben die Themen und die Story, ob gesellschaftlicher oder pers\u00f6nlicher Natur. Andererseits ist Oddisee MC durch und durch, also ein Moderator, ein Unterhalter, ein Zeremonienmeister. Bei seinen fantastischen Konzerten und der LP \u201eThe Iceberg\u201c auch gern mit DJ und seiner erprobten Band im R\u00fccken. Die neue EP \u201eEn Route\u201c jedoch produzierte er \u00fcberwiegend im Alleingang. Der K\u00fcnstler versteht das Werk als \u201eeine beseelte Momentaufnahme von Bewegtheit und Bedeutung. Jeder Track spiegelt die Bewegung wider \u2013 k\u00f6rperlich, emotional und spirituell. Es ist Musik f\u00fcr eine Reise, wohin auch immer.\u201c Unseren Track des Tages beschreiben die Liner-Notes als \u201eMeditation \u00fcber Gegenw\u00e4rtigkeit, Frieden und dar\u00fcber, was es bedeutet, etwas Echtes in einer zu schnelllebigen Welt zu finden\u201c.<\/p>\n
