Hologram Teen spinnt auf \u201eCaptain Fluo\u201c einen roten Disco-Faden<\/h6>\n

\u201eWhy Ya Wanna Wait?\u201c hei\u00dft eines von vielen Highlights auf dem neuen Album von Hologram Teen. Der Name des Elektropop-Projekts ist ein Anagramm des Namens Morgane Lhote. Die franz\u00f6sische Musikerin ging in den 1990er-Jahren nach London, wo sie als Keyboarderin bei Stereolab einstieg. Nach der Jahrtausendwende verlie\u00df sie die Band und Europa in Richtung USA. Mittlerweile in Kalifornien zu Hause, hat sie gerade ihre vierte Solo-LP ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Bisher verarbeiteten Lhotes Synth-Pop-Landschaften neben Tanzmusik und New Wave unter anderem Krautrock, instrumentalen HipHop und Bossa Nova. Doch auf \u201eCaptain Fluo\u201c verfolgt sie erstmals einen erkennbaren roten Faden. Denn auf die eine oder andere Weise beziehen sich alle Songs auf Disco. Oder zumindest die Vorl\u00e4ufer und Transformationen des Genres. F\u00fcr Lhote ist die LP \u201eeine mit Disco befeuerte Liebeserkl\u00e4rung an das 1980er-Paris und dessen Underground-Nachtleben\u201c.<\/p>\n

Auf der Leadsingle \u201eConnection Transpacifique<\/a>\u201c sang Sandra Zettpunkt<\/a> zu Proto-House-Beat und Disco-Streichern. \u201eFr\u00e9quence Gaie\u201c wiederum ist eine Hi-NRG-\u201eOde an eine queere Jugend im Paris der 1980er\u201c. Darin croont Maxwell Farrington \u00fcber queere Stimmen aus dem Piratenradio als Rettungsanker eines einsamen Teenagers. In unserem Track des Tages gastiert Eric D. Clark. Wie wenige verk\u00f6rpert der in Deutschland ans\u00e4ssige US-K\u00fcnstler Disco- und House-Kultur. Deren Verbindung verarbeitete Clarke mit Hans Nieswandt und Justus K\u00f6hncke als Whirlpool Productions im 90er-Hit \u201eFrom: Disco To: Disco\u201c. Als Chronist durchdringt Clarke die Disco-Geschichte mitsamt kulturellen Bedeutungen und Querverstrebungen. Doch am Mikro mutiert er zur brillanten, ungehobelten hedonistischen Diva<\/a>. So greift unser Track des Tages nicht nur Sly Stone, New-York-Disco und Chicago House auf. Sondern transportiert zudem die Spontaneit\u00e4t und Rotzigkeit des Dancefloor-Augenblicks. Den Schwei\u00df und die rohe Liebe, ohne die nichts funky w\u00e4re.<\/p>\n
