Noch nicht lange ist es her, dass die Londoner Gruppe um die S\u00e4ngerin L\u00e6titia Sadier und den Gitarristen Tim Gane Geschichte zu sein schien. Wenngleich die Band ab 2019 wieder ein paar Konzerte gespielt hatte, erschien die Vorstellung eines neuen Albums als frommer Fan-Wunschtraum. Doch dann ver\u00f6ffentlichte sie in neuer Besetzung mit nur wenigem verschl\u00fcsselten Vorlauf im Mai 2025 ihren ersten Longplayer seit 15 Jahren. Leicht h\u00e4tten Stereolab damit ihr Erbe zwar nicht unbedingt gleich ruinieren, aber \u00fcberfl\u00fcssig verw\u00e4ssern k\u00f6nnen. Aber \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/rezensionen\/stereolab-instant-holograms-on-metal-film-rezension-152017\/\">Instant Holograms On Metal Film<\/a>\u201c war ein fabelhaftes Album. Nat\u00fcrlich ohne die Magie des Neuen und Superhippen, die Stereolab in den 90ern umh\u00fcllte; klanglich hatte die Welt schon lange zu ihnen aufgeschlossen. Aber das Songwriting war zuweilen famos und der Sound passte auch.<\/p>\n<p>Im Vorfeld einer schon vorab fast ausverkauften Tournee durch Nord- und S\u00fcdamerika haben Stereolab nun zwei weitere Songs ver\u00f6ffentlicht, die nicht auf dem Album sind. Auch diese sind keine liegengebliebene Ausschussware von den Album-Sessions. Auf der B-Seite findet sich mit \u201eConstant And Uniform Movement Unknown\u201c ein klassischer, m\u00e4andernder, stereolabbiger F\u00fcnfmin\u00fcter zwischen Krautrock, 60s-Film-Soundtrack und French Pop. Auf der A-Seite wiederum ist unser Track des Tages. Darauf zeigen sich Stereolab mit eing\u00e4ngigen und gelegentlich fast hymnischen Hooks in Tanzfl\u00e4chenlaune. Eine w\u00fcrdige A-Seite!<\/p>\n<p>Die Single \u201eFed Up With Your Job \/ Constant And Uniform Movement Unknown\u201c von Stereolab ist auf dem Label Warp \/ Duophonic UHF Disks erschienen.
