Unser heutiger Track des Tages \u201eI\u2019ve Got Some Happiness\u201c ist weder neu, noch st\u00fcnde eine Neuver\u00f6ffentlichung an. Das St\u00fcck des eigensinnigen US-amerikanischen K\u00fcnstlers Leland ist einfach nur formidabel gealtert. Wobei das vielleicht nicht auf allen Ebenen gilt. So hat die Aufnahme \u00fcber die ungef\u00e4hr 50 Jahre seit ihrer ersten Ver\u00f6ffentlichung schon merklich gelitten. Teilweise, wenn man von den zischelnden \u201eS\u201c-Lauten absieht n\u00e4mlich, tr\u00e4gt dies jedoch auch zum Charme des Songs und seiner Geschichte bei. Denn ihr Klang \u00e4hnelt dem eines St\u00fccks, das wieder und wieder von Kassette zu Kassette \u00fcberspielt worden ist. Etwa als obskure Perle inmitten eines Mixtapes f\u00fcr Freund*innen. Im Kontext des Deb\u00fctalbums des von der US-Westk\u00fcste stammenden Musikers Leland Yoshitsu ist die Ballade zugleich das untypischste St\u00fcck und das eindeutige Highlight. \u00dcberwiegend besteht die LP aus dem Jahr 1976 aus Songs, die zwar auch als \u201eProto-Punk\u201c oder \u201eNew Wave\u201c beschrieben worden sind, vor allem aber an Psych- und Hardrock-Traditionen ankn\u00fcpfen.<\/p>\n

Punk ist an dem Album vor allem die DIY-Haltung. So spielte Yoshitsu alle nicht perkussiven Instrumente, sang, produzierte und mischte. Wom\u00f6glich mutete der Lo-Fi-Sound der im Selbstverlag ver\u00f6ffentlichten Platte 1976 eher hemds\u00e4rmlig an. 2010, als Chillwave boomte, klang Leland vision\u00e4r, jedenfalls auf diesem einen Song. Was zu der Zeit auch die Newcomerinnen Puro Instinct, die damals noch Pearl Harbor hie\u00dfen, gefunden haben m\u00fcssen, als sie mit einer Coverversion des sehnsuchtsvollen Songs ihre Deb\u00fct-EP beschlossen<\/a>. 2010 erschien dann auch die bislang letzte Ver\u00f6ffentlichung Lelands; ein Album namens \u201eFeel The Pain\u201c. F\u00fcnf Jahre sp\u00e4ter ver\u00f6ffentlichte das Label Stoned Circle das schwer zu findende Deb\u00fctalbum gemeinsam mit einer 1979er Live-EP als \u201eA Self-taught, Decathlon, Hard Rock Musician!\u201c. Diese Worte sollen von einer fr\u00fchen Ausgabe des Deb\u00fcts stammen. Belege daf\u00fcr sind \u2013 wie Infos zum K\u00fcnstler selbst \u2013 auch im Internetzeitalter kaum aufsp\u00fcrbar. Dennoch m\u00fcssen die Worte wohl als beste existierende Auskunft \u00fcber Leland gelten.<\/p>\n
