Mari Maurice Rubio hat unter anderem mit der Experimentalmusikerin Claire Rousay zusammengearbeitet und bewegt sich zwischen Tradition und Avantgarde. Zwar wohnt sie in New York, doch ihre musikalischen Wurzeln sind l\u00e4ndlich. Als sie aufwuchs, spielte sie Country- und Folk-Geige. Noch heute pr\u00e4gt diese Schule ihr Musik, die jedoch nicht gerade hinterw\u00e4ldlerische Assoziationen weckt. Auch der Titel ihres kommenden Albums \u201eSentence Structure In The Country\u201c spiegelt ihre Faszination f\u00fcr folkloristische Ausdrucksformen. Die \u201eSatzstruktur\u201c, die sie meint, ist ein musiktheoretischer Begriff. Sozusagen eine intellektuelle Ehrung ihrer musikalischen Herkunft, die trotz aller Unterschiede zu ihrer eigenen Musik unleugbar ist. Deutlich scheinen in einem St\u00fcck wie \u201eHealing Attempt\u201c auch Folklore-Klangfarben deutlich durch. Doch mit verfremdeter Stimme und ungew\u00f6hnlichem Sounddesign erinnert der Vibe eher an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/artists\/the-high-llamas\/\">High Llamas&#8216;<\/a> Album \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/sisters-friends-high-llamas-141325\/\">Hey Panda<\/a>\u201c (2024) als an Saloon oder Farm-Veranda. <\/p>\n<p>Unseren Track des Tages beschreibt sie als \u201everletzlichste Nummer des Albums\u201c: \u201eEs ist ein seltener Autotune-freier More-Eaze-Track, den ich bewusst so gestaltet habe, um mich zu zwingen, \u00fcber ein anderes Arrangement und eine andere Spielweise meiner Vocals nachzudenken.
