\u201eCity Of Symbols\u201c hei\u00dft eine neue Single der britischen Producerin, S\u00e4ngerin und Rapperin Alewya. Ihre ersten Jahre verbrachte Alewya im Sudan, bevor sie mit ihren \u00e4gyptischen und saudi-arabischen Eltern nach London floh. Ihre Showbiz-Karriere begann zun\u00e4chst als Model, bevor sie 2020 ihre erste Single \u201eSweating\u201c ver\u00f6ffentlichte. Relativ schnell folgten eine erste EP<\/a>, ein Feature bei Little Simz und eine Kooperation mit Moses Boyd. Ihre Musik richtete sich zumeist an verschwitzte Tanzfl\u00e4chen und zeigte von Beginn an ein gro\u00dfes stilistisches Vokabular und Genredurchl\u00e4ssigkeit. Nach dem fulminanten Start jedoch kam lange nicht mehr viel nach. Nun hat Alewya ihr erstes Album angek\u00fcndigt. Dessen Titel \u201eZero\u201c erkl\u00e4rt die K\u00fcnstlerin folgenderma\u00dfen: \u201eZero ist der Anfang, die Mitte und das Ende. Zero ist der Zwilling der Unendlichkeit.\u201c In ihrem Selbstverst\u00e4ndnis ist Alewya weniger eine Dancefloor-Musikerin als \u201eeine Malerin, die Musik macht\u201c. Auf ihrer Leinwand geht es in unserem Track des Tages weniger wild zu als gewohnt. Dennoch bleibt er auch bei gem\u00e4chlichem Tempo h\u00f6chst rhythmusfokussiert und experimentierfreudig. Textlich und musikalisch stellt Alewya sich selbst in den Kontext ihrer Exilheimat. Mit ihren eigenen, pers\u00f6nlichen Leidenschaften, ihrer Herkunft und Familiengeschichte.<\/p>\n
