Unser heutiger Track des Tages \u201eDie Matrosen\u201c stammt von der Schweizer Punk- bis Post-Punk-Band Liliput. So nannte sich die Gruppe aus Z\u00fcrich ab dem Jahr 1980. Gegr\u00fcndet hatte Bassistin und S\u00e4ngerin Klaudia Schifferle die Band jedoch bereits zwei Jahre zuvor mit drei Mitmusikerinnen unter dem Namen Kleenex. Schon ihre erste, selbstfinanzierte EP erregte internationales Aufsehen. Zumindest an wichtigen Stellen in Gro\u00dfbritannien, n\u00e4mlich bei dem einflussreichen Radio-DJ John Peel und dem Label Rough Trade, das sie unter Vertrag nahm. Bevor dort 1982 ihre erste LP erschien, durchlief die Band diverse Besetzungswechsel mit Schifferle als einziger Konstante. Auch der Name musste weichen, nachdem ein Taschentuchhersteller rechtliche Schritte angedroht hatte. Drei Jahre ging es als Liliput weiter, bevor Diskrepanzen von Labelvorstellungen und Lebensplanung das Ende bedeuteten. Bis zum zweiten und letzten Album \u201eSome Songs\u201c (1983) nahm die Band von Garagen-Art-Punk bis zu rhythmisch spannenden Experimenten, die mit New Yorker No Wave oder Bands wie Raincoats oder The Slits mithielten, vieles mit. Aus der Zeit kurz nach dem Reboot als Liliput stammt unser Track des Tages. \u00dcberwiegend in erster Linie ein Punk-Song, erweitert die Band ihre Palette um \u00fcberraschende Next-Level-Klangfarben. So verschmilzt das Saxofon beinahe mit den Rhythmusgitarren, w\u00e4hrend den Refrain ein Pfeif-Chor besorgt.<\/p>\n

Der Song \u201eDie Matrosen\u201c von Liliput erschien 1980 als B-Seite der Single \u201eSplit\u201c auf dem Label Rough Trade. Im Rahmen unser Themenwoche \u201e50 Jahre Punk\u201c ist das St\u00fcck unser Track des Tages. Mehr \u00fcber Kleenex\/Liliput k\u00f6nnt Ihr auch heute, am 20.
