Man k\u00f6nnte meinen, Bosnian Rainbows<\/a> seien Frischfleisch in der Musikindustrie, gr\u00fcndete sich die Band doch erst vergangenes Jahr. Falsch gedacht! Die einzelnen Bandmitglieder sind alte Hasen, jeder mit seiner eigenen musikalischen Vorgeschichte.<\/p>\n

Omar Rodr\u00edguez-L\u00f3pez ist eines der vier Regenbogenteile. Er legte f\u00fcr Bosnian Rainbows sein \u00fcber zehn Jahre andauerndes Projekt The Mars Volta<\/a> auf Eis. Vom Diktator zum Kollaborateur – so k\u00f6nnte man den neuen Karrierepfad beschreiben. Rodr\u00edguez-L\u00f3pez hat gelernt, in dieser Formation als Teil mitzuarbeiten und den Kontrollzwang abzulegen. Nach zahlreichen Soloalben konzentriert sich der Gitarrist, Komponist und Songwriter nun auf das neue Projekt, in dem auch sein ehemaliger Bandkollege Deantoni Parks wieder an Schlagzeug und Keybord mitwirkt.<\/p>\n

Teri Gender Bender \u00fcbernimmt die Stelle der S\u00e4ngerin. Sie ist eine zierliche Frau mit feinen Gesichtsz\u00fcgen, die von einem m\u00e4dchenhaften Pony umrahmt sind. Doch der Schein tr\u00fcgt, diese Frau ist alles andere als ein zur\u00fcckhaltendes Pers\u00f6nchen. Zuvor sang Teri f\u00fcr die Punkband Le Butcherettes<\/a>, nun leiht sie Bosnian Rainbows ihre unverkennbare Stimme und B\u00fchnenpr\u00e4senz. Wer in den Genuss eines Konzerts der Band gekommen ist, wei\u00df, wovon die Rede ist. Nicci Kasper komplettiert den Regenbogen mit seinen flinken Fingern am Keybord.<\/p>\n

Doch nun zum Deb\u00fctalbum „Bosnian Rainbows“. Gute Nachrichten: Die Fusion funktioniert. Was wir zu h\u00f6ren bekommen, ist ein kunstvolles Ensemble aus Gitarren, Synthesizern, Schlagzeug und eindringlichem Gesang. Der erste Track auf der Platte, „Eli“, ist atmosph\u00e4risch. Schaurig-sch\u00f6n klingt das zu Beginn und entl\u00e4dt sich zur Mitte zu einer lauten, d\u00fcsteren Klangwelt. Wer auf die Texte achtet, bemerkt schnell die poetische Ader. In „The Eye Fell In Love“ fragt Teri mit dringlicher Stimme: „Tell me, where is all the pain left in the world?“<\/p>\n

Bosnian Rainbows machen Musik, um sich und die Welt besser zu verstehen. Es ist eine Art Therapie, ein Versuch, sich selbst durch Musik n\u00e4herzukommen. Sie sprechen Themen an, die alle Menschen miteinander vereinen: Jeder stellt sich Fragen \u00fcber die Liebe, das Sterben, Sex und die Steuererkl\u00e4rung.<\/p>\n

Der Track „Turtle Neck“, der auch die zweite Singleauskopplung aus dem Album ist, erzeugt zun\u00e4chst Assoziationen einer Wiese, \u00fcber der vereinzelt die Sonne scheint und zwischen den B\u00e4umen ein Regenbogen hervorlugt. Sehr romantisch, w\u00fcrde es nicht durch die abgefahrene Gitarrennummer abgel\u00f6st werden. Es klingt nach Matsch und Regen, aber der guten Art. „Red“ und „Mother, Father, Set Us Free“ klingen seichter. Man sp\u00fcrt, das Album neigt sich dem Ende zu. Die sanften Kl\u00e4nge verabschieden einen aus 50 Minuten hypnotisierendem, d\u00fcsteren, rockigen, fast punkigen Popsounds.<\/p>\n

Bosnian Rainbows \u00fcberzeugen auf der Platte, dennoch gibt es nicht die volle Punktzahl. Warum? Das Potenzial der Band ist gro\u00df, ihre wirkliche St\u00e4rke liegt jedoch in den Live-Auftritten. Die Musik erh\u00e4lt einen anderen Vibe, sie ist freier. Aus einem Drei-Minuten-Song werden dank Gitarrensolo von Omar mal sieben Minuten. Daher lautet die Empfehlung: Unbedingt mal auf ein Konzert gehen.<\/p>\n
