Oktober 1948, gr\u00fcndete gemeinsam mit <a href=\"http:\/\/byte.fm\/magazin\/blog\/2011\/05\/19\/zum-60-geburtstag-von-joey-ramone\/\">Joey<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/byte.fm\/magazin\/blog\/2012\/06\/05\/vor-zehn-jahren-starb-dee-dee-ramone\/\">Dee Dee<\/a> und Tommy Ramone die Band, die dem Punk das Leben einhauchte &#8211; The Ramones. Neben Joey, der eigentlich Jeffrey Hyman hie\u00df, war Johnny der Einzige, der bis zur Aufl\u00f6sung 1996 bei der Band blieb. <\/p>\n<p>Johnny Ramone wuchs in einem Arbeiterviertel auf Long Island auf. In der Kneipe seines Vaters kam er als Kind mit Rock&#8217;n&#8217;Roll in Ber\u00fchrung. Doch bis zur Musikkarriere sollte es eine Weile dauern: Mit 25 freundete sich Cummings mit Douglas Colvin, besser bekannt als Dee Dee Ramone, an. Gemeinsam holten sie sich ihre ersten Instrumente &#8211; Joey eine Gitarre, Dee Dee einen Bass. Kurze Zeit sp\u00e4ter waren The Ramones geboren.<\/p>\n<p>Mit ihren Auftritten im legend\u00e4ren <a href=\"http:\/\/byte.fm\/magazin\/blog\/2013\/12\/10\/zum-40-geburtstag-des-cbgb\/\">New Yorker Club CBGBs<\/a> trat die Band eine Welle der Begeisterung los. Schnelle, kurze St\u00fccke waren das Markenzeichen der Ramones. Ihr Sound beeinflusst bis heute Generationen von Musikern. Essentieller Bestandteil war Johnnys minimalistisches und aggressives Gitarrenspiel. Von Soli hielt er nichts &#8211; er sah die Gitarre vielmehr als Rhythmusinstrument, dass er stets von oben nach unten anschlug. Die sogenannte Downpicking-Technik machte Johnny Ramone popul\u00e4r.<\/p>\n<p>Entgegen dem Image der Ramones als aufr\u00fchrerische Punkband vertrat Johnny Ramone sehr konservative Ansichten. Er war \u00fcberzeugter Republikaner. Bei der Aufnahme in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame dankte er 2002 dem damaligen US-Pr\u00e4sidenten George W. Bush. Johnny Ramone starb am 15.
