Sleaford Mods: „Key Markets“ – unser Album der Woche.<\/p>\n

„Key Markets“ hei\u00dft das dritte Album, das das englische Duo Sleaford Mods auf Harbinger Sound ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Der Vorg\u00e4nger „Divide And Exit“ hat nicht nur in Gro\u00dfbritannien, sondern auch hierzulande sehr viel Aufmerksamkeit bekommen. Die kleinen Clubs, durch die die Deutschland-Tour von Sleaford Mods vor etwa einem Jahr ging, waren an jedem Abend zum Bersten voll. Warum? Vielleicht weil sich Jason Williamson und Andy Fearn in puncto \u00c4rger keine Bl\u00f6\u00dfe geben.<\/p>\n

Minimal und brutal ist ihr Stil. Fearn bastelt Tracks aus simplen Basslines und Midtempo-Drums, eine Kombination, die Druck macht. Aber beileibe nicht so viel Druck, wie Williamson dazu beisteuert. Sein Sprechgesang ist ein Auskotzen, ein sich von der Seele schreien, die pure Wut umgewandelt in nicht enden wollende Monologe. Williamson klagt an, beschwert sich, beschimpft, \u00e4rgert sich \u00fcber die Gesellschaft, die Regierung, das Musikgesch\u00e4ft, andere Bands.<\/p>\n

Dieses Prinzip wurde seit der letzten Platte nicht gro\u00df ver\u00e4ndert, doch das k\u00fcmmert nicht. Roh und direkt hat immer noch Konjunktur. Auf „Key Markets“ finden sich dementsprechend Zeilen, die h\u00e4ngen bleiben. „Alienation? No one\u2019s bothered“ ist eine davon. Sie taucht im \u00e4u\u00dferst schnellen, an fr\u00fchen, englischen Punk erinnernden St\u00fcck „No One\u2019s Bothered“ auf. Oder „Free money, mate, just fill in the form and if you can\u2019t then I can \u2019elp ya“ im Song „Face To Faces“, der neben „In The Quiet Streets“ eine der eing\u00e4ngigsten Basslines des Albums vorweisen kann.<\/p>\n

Sich im Kreis drehende, schwelende, bedrohliche Mollt\u00f6ne, die an Post-Punk-Bands wie The Slits und Delta 5 erinnern, machen die Arrangements aus. Dazu Williamsons Stimme, die manchmal richtig Flow hat, zum Beispiel im trockenen „The Blob“, und sich an anderer Stelle in einem enormen Tempo in Rage spricht, so wie in „Giddy On The Ciggies“.<\/p>\n

„Key Markets“ ist ein gro\u00dfes St\u00fcck \u00fcble Laune in zw\u00f6lf Akten, das sich weder um Trends noch um Traditionen schert. Von der Dringlichkeit der Sleaford Mods k\u00f6nnen sich einige Popper eine Scheibe abschneiden.<\/p>\n

Sleaford Mods machen Druck, noch ein bisschen mehr als beim Vorg\u00e4nger.
