Ein Kind nat\u00fcrlich. So geschehen im Haus von Gabriel Garz\u00f3n-Montano. Seine Mutter spielte im Ensemble der Minimal-Music-Gr\u00f6\u00dfe Glass, und sie machte ihren Sohn von klein auf mit den vielen Formen vertraut, in denen Musik einem begegnen kann. Zum Beispiel mit Avantgarde, Cumbia und den Beatles \u2013 Garz\u00f3n-Montano wusste so schon fr\u00fch, was er gut und spannend fand.<\/p>\n<p>So richtig mitgerissen hat ihn dann aber die Entdeckung von Prince und The Notorious B.I.G. und diese Einfl\u00fcsse begleiten den Musiker aus Brooklyn bis heute. Eine Riesenportion Sinnlichkeit und gleitende Verschmelzungen von Rhythmus und Melodie, die auf l\u00e4ssige Weise eing\u00e4ngig her\u00fcberkommen, sind die Grundpfeiler von \u201eJard\u00edn\u201c. F\u00fcr sein Deb\u00fct musste Gabriel Garz\u00f3n-Montano die Fassung und den Glaube an sich selbst wiederfinden. Denn der kleine H\u00f6henflug, den der Musiker nach seiner ersten EP \u201eBishoun\u00e9: Alma Del Huila\u201c hatte, bekam ihm nicht gut. Nach Touren mit Lenny Kravitz und Mayer Hawthorne blieb er k\u00fcnstlerisch stecken, fing an, an seiner Musik zu zweifeln.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eJard\u00edn\u201c radiert diese schlechten Gef\u00fchle nun komplett aus. Gabriel Garz\u00f3n-Montano hat die St\u00fccke seines Deb\u00fcts aus enthusiastischen Klicks und Booms (\u201eSour Mango\u201c), glatten Streichern, gurgelnden Funk-Synthesizern und tanzverliebten B\u00e4ssen (\u201eThe Game\u201c) gebaut. Nicht zu vergessen sind die geschickt gedoppelten Stimm-Arrangements, mit denen er beim Zuh\u00f6ren wieder und wieder umgarnt. So auch im Herzst\u00fcck des Albums, das zwischen zwei Songs liegt: Mit \u201eCrawl\u201c, das an die sexy Nonchalance von D\u2019Angelo erinnert, l\u00e4sst Garz\u00f3n-Montano den Blutdruck ohne Hast steigen. \u201eBombo Fantastico\u201c schlie\u00dft hieran an \u2013 und wandelt die von Honig \u00fcberzogene Stimmung in eine traumverlorene Aufregung, ein schlafwandlerisches Zucken.<\/p>\n<p>Mit \u201eJard\u00edn\u201c wollte Gabriel Garz\u00f3n-Montano einen Freiraum schaffen, der allumfassend gut tut, der Trost und Heilung anbietet.
