Car Seat Headrest<\/a> haben einen neuen Song ver\u00f6ffentlicht. \u201eBeach Life-In-Death\u201c ist ein dreizehnmin\u00fctiges Epos, in dem die US-amerikanische Band um Frontmann Will Toledo Lo-Fi mit progressiven Song-Strukturen vereint: Der Song beginnt als konventioneller Rock-Song, der jedoch mit dubbigen Half-Time-Passagen und melodischen Breaks st\u00e4ndig in verschiedene Richtungen mutiert und \u00fcberraschende Haken schl\u00e4gt, bis sich zum kathartischen Finale die Gitarren-Wellen \u00fcberschlagen \u2013 \u201eThe ocean washed open your grave.\u201c<\/p>\n

Der Song erschien bereits 2011 auf dem siebten Car-Seat-Headrest-Album \u201eTwin Fantasy\u201c<\/a> und klang damals (der DIY-\u00c4sthetik der fr\u00fchen Platten entsprechend) noch sehr skizzenhaft. Doch mit dieser Neuaufnahme klingt \u201eBeach Life-In-Death\u201c zum ersten Mal voll realisiert, ohne dabei seinen Lo-Fi-Charakter einzub\u00fc\u00dfen: Der offenere Sound und das klar definierte Schlagzeug lassen den Song deutlich transparenter erscheinen, obwohl er dabei genauso charmant rumpelt und stolpert wie zuvor. <\/p>\n
