Pop-Legende, Ordenstr\u00e4ger, Hobby-DJ: 1965 schenkte Paul McCartney<\/a> seinen The-Beatles-Kollegen jeweils ein selbstgeschneidertes Weinachtsmixtape. Die vier Exemplare galten lange Zeit als verschollen, doch der britische Beatles-Biograph und Bootleg-Sammler Simon Wells konnte nun die A-Seite der adventlichen Pop-Kuriosit\u00e4t rekonstruieren und auf Youtube ver\u00f6ffentlichen.<\/p>\n

In seiner Biografie \u201ePaul McCartney: Many Years From Now\u201c erw\u00e4hnte der ehemalige Beatle bereits die Tapes und unterstrich dabei ihren inoffiziellen Charakter: \u201eDie waren eigentlich nur f\u00fcr uns vier gedacht, das war so ein bekifftes Ding.\u201c In authentischer Radio-Manier kommentierte McCartney auf dem Tape die Songs \u2013 und arbeitete sogar einen frechen Seitenhieb auf ihre ewigen Konkurrenten ein: \u201eUnd jetzt kommt diese eine Band, die fr\u00fcher in den 60er-Jahren mal ber\u00fchmt war: The Rolling Stones!\u201c<\/p>\n

Im Grunde kann man dieses Mixtape durchaus als k\u00fcnstlerische Vorstufe f\u00fcr sp\u00e4tere Sample-Experimente betrachten, wie sie etwa auf \u201eI Am The Walrus\u201c zu h\u00f6ren sind. Eben jener Song taucht heute Abend nochmal im Programm von ByteFM auf: Volker Rebell widmet sich um 23 Uhr in seiner Sendung Kramladen dem 50-j\u00e4hrigen Jubil\u00e4um des The-Beatles-Films \u201eMagical Mystery Tour\u201c<\/a>, der Weihnachten 1967 kolossal an der Kinokasse floppte \u2013 und auf dessen Soundtrack \u201eI Am The Walrus\u201c zu finden ist. <\/p>\n
