Warum nicht mal jemanden verletzen? Das sind die Fragen, die Anna Aaron in \u201eWhy Not\u201c, ihrem ersten neuen Song seit vier Jahren stellt. Das titelgebende Mantra liest sich zuerst wie eine Variante auf Icona Pops 2012er Sommerhit \u201eI Love It\u201c, auf hemmungslosen Hedonismus. Doch je tiefer man in Aarons Song eintaucht, desto bitterer wird es: \u201eWhy not suck at the most basic human decencies\u201c, hei\u00dft es gegen Ende. \u201eYou fucked me over\u201c, im Refrain. Und sp\u00e4testens dann ist klar: Hier werden nicht die kleinen Fehler gefeiert, hier geht irgendetwas zu Bruch. <\/p>\n<p>Wut war schon immer eine wichtige Facette in der Musik der Schweizer K\u00fcnstlerin. Jedoch hat diese noch nie so intensiv geklungen wie in \u201eWhy Not\u201c: Sowohl vom Art-Folk ihres 2011er Deb\u00fcts \u201eDogs In Spirit\u201c als auch vom warmen Synth-Pop des 2014 erschienenen Nachfolgers \u201eNeuro\u201c fehlt hier jede Spur, stattdessen dominiert k\u00fchle, finstere Elektronik. Der Beat rasselt bedrohlich und der Bass schl\u00e4ngelt sich zischend durch die Zwischenr\u00e4ume. Ein bisschen f\u00fchlt man sich in die polyrhythmischen Albtraumwelten vom letzten The-Knife-Album zur\u00fcckversetzt, mit einer klaren Ausnahme: Aaron verliert bei all der Dunkelheit nicht ihren Humor und singt das immer wiederkehrende \u201eWhy Not, Why Not\u201c mit verschmitzter Lakonie. <\/p>\n<p>\u201ePallas Dreams\u201c, das dritte Album von Anna Aaron, wird im Januar 2019 auf Radicalis erscheinen.
