Gudrun Gut – \u201eMoment\u201c (Monika)<\/h6>\n

Sp\u00e4testens \u201eKaltes klares Wasser\u201c, der Untergrundhit der Gruppe Malaria!, sp\u00fclte Gudrun Gut in die Gew\u00e4sser der bundesdeutschen Poplandschaft. Das war 1981. Seither schwimmt die vielseitige K\u00fcnstlerin, Produzentin und Labelbetreiberin gegen den Strom der Massenkompatibilit\u00e4t. Sei es bei den Einst\u00fcrzenden Neubauten, bei der Avantgarde-Punkband Mania D, ihrem Dark-Wave-Projekt Matador oder als Teil des experimentellen Elektropop-Kollektivs Ocean Club: Kollaboration und Experimente, die sinistre Randbereiche des Pop touchieren, sind die Quintessenz der Musik von Gudrun Gut.<\/p>\n

Und eben die ist auch auf ihrem mittlerweile dritten Soloalbum \u201eMoment\u201c allgegenw\u00e4rtig. Das Spannungsfeld zwischen Pop und Avantgarde, in dem sich die Wahlberlinerin bewegt, pr\u00e4sentiert sich bereits zu Beginn des Albums. Er\u00f6ffnet wird mit \u201eStartup Loch\u201c\u2013 ein mit glei\u00dfenden Synthfl\u00e4chen und organischen Schlagzeug-Sample ausgestatteter Dark-Wave-Song. Gudrun Gut singt fl\u00fcsternd, stoisch vom verh\u00e4ngnisvollen Scheitern w\u00e4hrend eines unternehmerischen H\u00f6henflugs und wiegt die H\u00f6rerInnen dabei behutsam in einem Bett aus Raureif. Auf \u201eMusik\u201c, ein hypnotischer Track mit Minimal-Techno-Anleihen, erz\u00e4hlt die K\u00fcnstlerin davon, was Musik f\u00fcr sie ist \u2013 \u201eEine Art von Traum \/ Eine Art von Gl\u00fcck\u201c \u2013 und was diese leisten kann: Nicht mehr und nicht weniger als das Zur\u00fcckbringen in die Nacht, in der man die Unersch\u00f6pflichkeit des Seins sp\u00fcrt.<\/p>\n

Pointierte Gesellschaftskritik<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Dass Frauen in Saudi-Arabien endlich Auto fahren d\u00fcrfen, ist der Feministin Gudrun Gut nat\u00fcrlich nicht entgangen. Diese Errungenschaft scheint sie dennoch als Schein-Freiheit zu lesen. Die Single \u201eBaby I Can Drive My Car\u201c beginnt n\u00e4mlich mit den Zeilen \u201eUnd es ist eng hier \/ So eng hier\u201c, die \u00fcber einem \u00e4therischen Autotune-Chor und dr\u00fcckenden Bass-Synths schweben. Sie geben dem Track einen bitteren Beigeschmack. Denn nur eine Fahrt in die W\u00fcste zeigt sich als Chance auf eine wahre, freiheitliche Erfahrung.<\/p>\n

Die St\u00e4rke Guts, subversiv und pointiert Gesellschaftskritik in ihre Songs einzuweben, zeigt sich auch in ihrer Coverversion von David Bowies \u201eBoys Keep Swinging\u201c. Die fast schon sarkastische Gesangsperformance von Gut sorgt f\u00fcr ein Update der Kritik am \u201eMale Privilege\u201c, die das Original von Bowie schon 1979 anbrachte.<\/p>\n

Neben den beschriebenen straighten, technoiden Songs finden sich auf \u201eMoment\u201c auch instrumentale Tracks, die die experimentellen, klangformerischen Qualit\u00e4ten Guts in den Fokus r\u00fccken: Auf \u201eShuttleservice\u201c herrscht kontrollierte Sequenzer-Autonomie, bei \u201eSeltene Erde\u201c knarzen k\u00f6rnige Synths quer durchs Stereobild und \u201eBackup\u201c beschlie\u00dft das Album im Stile eines \u201eThe Young Person\u2019s Guide To Filters \u2013 And How To Use Them\u201c. Letztendlich ist \u201eMoment\u201c in seiner einnehmenden Dichte all das, was Gudrun Guts Musik seit Beginn ihrer beeindruckenden Karriere auszeichnet: kalt, klar und fluide.<\/p>\n
