Sex Pistols, eine der skandaltr\u00e4chtigsten Bands der britischen Punk-Szene, sind seit wenigen Wochen Geschichte. Bassist Sid Vicious hat nur noch ein paar Monate zu leben. Das konnte John Lydon nat\u00fcrlich nicht wissen, als er in der ersten Single seines neuen Projekts Public Image Ltd. seine alte Band zerriss. \u201eDer Rest der Band und [Manager] Malcolm McLaren haben sich nie darum gek\u00fcmmert, ob ich singen konnte\u201c, sagte der Mann, der einst Johnny Rotten hie\u00df, sp\u00e4ter \u00fcber den Song. \u201eDie nahmen mich nur f\u00fcrs Image.\u201c Mit seiner neuen Band Public Image Ltd. hatte Lydon letztlich eine Gruppe um sich geschart, bei der die Kunst wichtiger war als die Au\u00dfenwahrnehmung. Mit Songs wie \u201ePublic Image\u201c schufen sie das, was sp\u00e4ter Post-Punk genannt werden sollte. <\/p>\n<p>\u201ePublic Image: First Edition\u201c, das Album, auf dem \u201ePublic Image\u201c sp\u00e4ter ver\u00f6ffentlicht wurde, wird heute 40 Jahre alt. \u201ePublic Image\u201c ist unser Track des Tages.
