Im Juni 1964 ging Miles Davis&#8216; einstiger Weggef\u00e4hrte mit seinem \u201eklassischen Quartett\u201c ins Studio: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/john-coltrane-my-favorite-things-track-des-tages-84052\/\">McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones<\/a> und Jimmy Garrison. In dieser Besetzung sollte im selben Jahr noch \u201eA Love Supreme\u201c entstehen, heute eines der bekanntesten Modern-Jazz-Alben. Warum dauerte es so lange? Wenn man dem titelgebenden St\u00fcck nach urteilen darf, hat das keine Qualit\u00e4tsgr\u00fcnde. Wie bei \u201eBoth Directions At Once: The Lost Album\u201c, das 2018 erschien, sind \u201eTrane\u201c und seine Mitmusiker in bester Verfassung. <\/p>\n<p>Doch die Session war keine regul\u00e4re Albumaufnahme f\u00fcr eine Plattenfirma: Der kanadische Regisseur Gilles Groulx hatte Coltrane f\u00fcr den Soundtrack seines Films \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2019\/08\/16\/751516859\/a-lost-album-from-john-coltrane-is-found-with-thanks-to-a-french-canadian-direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Die Katze in der Tasche<\/a>\u201c gebucht, weil er Fan war. Letztlich nutzte er nur zehn Minuten des Materials, w\u00e4hrend der Rest geduldig im Archiv \u00fcberwinterte. Bis Coltranes alte Plattenfirma die Aufnahme in ihre H\u00e4nde bekam. Die St\u00fccke dokumentieren eine Band auf der H\u00f6he ihres Schaffens, die im Begriff war, ihren Meilenstein aufzunehmen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eBlue World\u201c von John Coltrane erscheint am 27.
