Das Computer-B\u00fcgeleisen f\u00fcr windschiefe Gesangsaufnahmen ist vielerorts als seelenlos verrufen. Beim Produzenten aus dem US-amerikanischen Columbia hingegen wird der Effekt zum emotionalen Vehikel. Im Video zu \u201eNew House\u201c entsteigt Bundick einem Bus und l\u00e4uft im Regen durch eine brutalistische Wohnsiedlung. Seine digital verfremdete Stimme ist in diesem Moment genau das sehns\u00fcchtige Timbre f\u00fcr dieses triste Aufeinandertreffen von Natur und Zivilisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00dcber Autotune-Melancholie und das Verh\u00e4ltnis von Mensch, Maschine, manipulierten Stimmen und Traurigkeit hat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deutschlandfunkkultur.de\/mark-fisher-k-punk-aufregende-pop-dystopie.2156.de.html?dram:article_id=439820\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mark Fisher<\/a> lesenswerte Aufs\u00e4tze geschrieben. \u201eNew House\u201c funktioniert allerdings auch ohne gro\u00dfen \u00dcberbau. Sondern beweist umso mehr, dass ein Synthesizer und ein Stimmeffekt keine seelenloseren Maschinen sind als Gitarren oder Klaviere. Die latente Melancholie, die auch den Tanzst\u00fccken von Toro Y Moi innewohnen kann, ist hier die Essenz.
