Ein nostalgisches \u201eBoom, boom-boom tschak\u201c. Der Schellenkranz knistert so warm wie ein Kaminfeuer. Das Klavier und die Akustikgitarre spielen sanfte Akkorde. Die Stimme wirkt, als w\u00fcrde sie konstant ein L\u00e4cheln unterdr\u00fccken m\u00fcssen. Alles an \u201eThe Archer\u201c, dem Abschlussstrack des zweiten Albums von Alexandra Savior, klingt freundlich. Aber nur, wenn man den Text ausblendet. In dem flie\u00dft Blut: \u201eYou bit my head right off with your tiny little mouth \/ I licked the blood from your lips\u201c, singt diese schelmische Stimme. L\u00e4sst man diese W\u00f6rter im Kopf rotieren, verblasst die Freundlichkeit. Pl\u00f6tzlich zischt der Schellenkranz wie eine Klapperschlange. <\/p>\n<h4><strong>Verf\u00fchren oder begraben?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>\u201eThe Archer\u201c gibt Saviors Album seinen Namen \u2013 und symbolisiert das Verwirrspiel, das die US-Amerikanerin auf dieser LP meistert. Sie schreibt Songs, die z\u00e4rtlich beginnen und als Moritaten enden. Die erst wie ein Liebeslied anmuten und dann das ganze Gift einer kaputten Beziehung ausspucken. In \u201eHowl\u201c nennt Savior ihren Liebhaber, den sie nicht aus ihrem Kopf bekommt, erst noch liebevoll \u201eBoy\u201c. Am Ende ist er der \u201ehandsome dictator of my crimes\u201c. <\/p>\n<p>Auf ihrem 2017 erschienenen Deb\u00fct \u201eBelladonna Of Sadness\u201c teilte Savior sich das Songwriting noch mit Arctic-Monkeys-S\u00e4nger Alex Turner. \u201eThe Archer\u201c entstammt ausschlie\u00dflich ihrer eigenen Feder. Das Ergebnis ist ein morbider Psych-Pop-Fiebertraum. Produzent Sam Cohen (Kevin Morby, Benjamin Booker) l\u00e4sst die Gitarren mal wie Katzen schnurren, dann wie Kreiss\u00e4gen aufheulen. Saviors Stimme wird nie lauter als ein sehns\u00fcchtiges Heulen, doch auch im Fl\u00fcsterton ist jede Silbe intensiv. Man wei\u00df nie ganz, ob sie einen verzaubern oder verfluchen, verf\u00fchren oder begraben will. \u201eMy death, it haunts him like a ship \/ Without a sail \/ I know I&#8217;ll be gone soon \/ But just for him, I will prevail\u201c, haucht sie in \u201eCrying All The Time\u201c.
