Februar 2020 hat Jah Wobble einen dissonant-dubbigen Track ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Eine tieffrequente Anklage der Zust\u00e4nde in Gro\u00dfbritannien. Hierf\u00fcr hat der ehemalige <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/news\/wie-eine-maschine-nur-besser-jaki-liebezeit-in-fuenf-songs-78830\/\">Bassist<\/a> von Public Image Ltd fast seine gesamte alte Band zusammengetrommelt. Gitarrist Keith Levene und Drummer Richard Dudanski waren mit Wobble dabei, als PIL \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/sendungen\/school-of-rock\/2018-10-21\/11\/public-image-ltd-pil-1978-1981\/\">Metal Box<\/a>\u201c aufnahmen. Nicht nur die Verpackung des Albums erreichte ikonischen Status. Es rangiert heute auch musikalisch an prominenter Stelle im Post-Punk-Kanon.<\/p>\n<p>Nur einer fehlt: S\u00e4nger John Lydon, der sich mit PIL von seinem erdr\u00fcckenden Sex-Pistols-Image <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/blog\/tracks-des-tages\/track-des-tages-public-image-ltd-public-image-83881\/\">befreite<\/a>. Und mit ihnen f\u00fcr radikale musikalische und \u00e4sthetische Experimente gro\u00dfe Majorlabel-Budgets verfeuerte. Lydon und Wobble waren Jugendfreunde und entdeckten gemeinsam Reggae und Dub auf sogenannten \u201eBlues\u201c: illegalen Reggae-Partys, bei denen sie meist die einzigen wei\u00dfen G\u00e4ste waren. Nach dem Ende der Sex Pistols \u00fcberf\u00fchrten sie ihre Dub-Affinit\u00e4t in eine dissonant-groovende Musik, wie sie niemand zuvor gemacht hatte.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Post-Punk-Dub-Allianz<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>An der Brexit-Frage scheiden sich die Freunde, denn der in den USA wohnhafte Lydon hat mittlerweile sowohl seine Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr Donald Trump als auch f\u00fcr den Ausstieg Gro\u00dfbritanniens aus der EU verk\u00fcndet. Was er teilweise aber auch widerruft und <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tagesspiegel.de\/gesellschaft\/medien\/interview-mit-punk-ikone-johnny-rotten-ich-akzeptiere-jede-herabsetzung\/20058898.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nie gesagt haben m\u00f6chte<\/a>. Das ist Lydon. Klarer liegt der Fall bei Wobble: Der verortet sich politisch noch immer klar radikal links. Am Mikro ist bei \u201eA Very British Coup\u201c daher nicht Lydon, der von einer Allianz f\u00fcr Bass gegen Brexit wenig \u00fcbrighaben sollte. Stattdessen am Mikrofon: Mark Stewart, der mit The Pop Group zur gleichen Zeit wie Wobble im Anschluss an Punk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byte.fm\/sendungen\/elevator-music\/2017-10-24\/23\/elevator-music-here-to-be-heard-von-the-slits-zu-2\/\">Dissonanzen, Dub und Funk<\/a> zusammenbrachte.
