Zum Weltfrauentag kommt unser Track des Tages von Soul-S\u00e4ngerin Laura Lee, die morgen 75 Jahre alt wird. Von Haus aus eine Gospels\u00e4ngerin, sattelte die 1945 als Laura Lee Newton geborene Tochter Chicagos Ende der 60er-Jahre auf Funk und Soul um. Die \u00c4nderung des Sounds ging auch mit einem Labelwechsel einher. Nach ihrer Abkehr von den biblischen Themen bei der traditionelleren Blues-Institution Chess ging sie zum hippen Label Hot Wax. Das hatten die Hitproduzenten Lamont Dozier und Brian und Edward Holland nach ihrer Trennung von Motown gerade gegr\u00fcndet. Nicht nur auf musikalischer Ebene war Laura Lee vorne dabei. Bemerkenswert sind an ihren Soul-Songs vor allem auch die Texte. Viele St\u00fccke aus den 70ern sind fr\u00fche Zeugnisse feministischer Pop-Musik. Und haben nichts an Dringlichkeit eingeb\u00fc\u00dft<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Laura Lee war nicht nur Song-Interpretin, sondern verfasste auch selbst die Lyrics zu Songs wie \u201eWomen’s Love Rights\u201c. In diesem St\u00fcck forderte sie f\u00fcr Frauen dieselben Rechte wie f\u00fcr M\u00e4nner ein. Auch bei der Partner*innenwahl und -anzahl. Die S\u00e4ngerin fand es nicht nur falsch, dass sich Frauen auf eine monogame Hausfrauenrolle festschreiben lassen sollten, w\u00e4hrend M\u00e4nner machen konnten, was sie wollten. Sie forderte es auch lautstark. Ein radikaler feministischer Aufruf war auch die Funk-Nummer \u201eIt\u2019s Not What You Fall For, It\u2019s What You Stand For\u201c von 1972. Ein expliziter Appell an die H\u00f6rerinnen, die patriarchalen Fesseln zu zerrei\u00dfen und selbstbewusst als aus eigener Kraft befreite, gleichberechtigte Frauen durch die Welt zu schreiten.<\/p>\n

Dem Weltfrauentag widmete sich auf ByteFM auch Sophia Fischer im Reeperbahn Festival Container<\/a>. Auch in der Frauentagsausgabe von ByteFM Klassik<\/a> bringt Leonie M\u00f6hring am 8. M\u00e4rz um 12 Uhr Werke von zu Unrecht vernachl\u00e4ssigten Komponistinnen zur Auff\u00fchrung. Mitglieder im Verein \u201eFreunde von ByteFM<\/a>\u201c k\u00f6nnen die Sendungen nach der Ausstrahlung im ByteFM Archiv nachh\u00f6ren. <\/p>\n
