Heute stehen die frühen 80er-Jahre im Fokus dieser Magazinausgabe. Zu dieser Zeit versuchte sich der Musiker und Zeichner Daniel Johnston in der Austiner Musikszene einen Namen zu machen, indem er selbstaufgenommene und eigens illustrierte Tapes verteilte. Heute vor einem Jahr starb der Künstler im Alter von 58 Jahren.
Die frühen 80er waren auch in Großbritannien aus musikalischer Sicht spannend. Dort waren im Jahr 1980 zwei Alben besonders erfolgreich, die morgen ihr 40-jähriges Jubiläum feiern: das Album "Black Sea" der englischen Rockband XTC und "Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)" von David Bowie.
Und schließlich atmet auch unser Album der Woche „EÖE“ der Hamburger/Berliner Band Erregung Öffentlicher Erregung den wilden Spirit der frühen 80er-Jahre.
