Female:Pressure Nikae

Nikae is the DJ alias of sound artist Nika Son.
After leaving her hometown in the south of Germany in early years, moving to England and back again, Nika headed up north and started to visit the Hamburg artschool. First active as a painter she finished her studies as a sound artist and musician. Influenced by Musique Concrète and the outer space of electronic music as well as her way from sculptural to sound-sculptural work, it led her to a love for manipulated field recordings, filtered tape-loops, analogue synthesis and knocking radiowaves. Her music is released on her own label Noctui as well as compilation appearances on differing labels, such as Mmodemm, Sky Walking, Anti-Ghost Moon Ray. Her newest collaborative project is called C with the musician F#X/E.K.G.
For the past five years Nikae has been hosting two regular nights at the notorious Hamburg Golden Pudel Club called Next Time (together with Ratkat) and Noctuidae, inviting differing guests and playing waywardly records from odd-synth-wave-electronica over industrial-detroit-kraut.
