An Selbstbewusstsein mangelt es ihnen nicht: "Hit By Hit" nennen The Godfathers aus London mal eben ihr Debüt, das im November 1986 erscheint. Und die Band um die Gebrüder Coyne hat dabei nicht einmal Unrecht: Mit Songs wie "I Want Everything", "This Damnation", "Lonely Man" oder Lennons "Cold Turkey" strotzt die Platte nur so vor hitlastigem Rock zwischen Garage und Sixties-R'n'B.
