That's Rhythm Jack McVea
Eine Sendung über den Saxophonist Jack McVea, der bei Lionel Hampton's Klassiker "Flyin' Home" mitspielte, beim ersten Jazz-At-The-Philharmonic Konzert 1944 auftrat und ein Jahr später mit Dizzy Gillespie und Charlie Parker jammte. Außerdem war er verantwortlich für den Novelty Song "Open The Door Richard!", der von Count Basie und vielen anderen gecovert wurde. Er nahm bis zum Ende der Fünfzigerjahre swingende R&B Titel auf, die ihn als exquisiten Jazzer und witzigen Entertainer präsentieren.
