Am Morgen des 25. Dezembers 2009 berichteten verschiedene Onlinemedien, dass der Singer/Songwriter Vic Chesnutt infolge eines Selbstmordversuchs zunächst ins Koma gefallen sei. Kurze Zeit später bestätigte Chesnutts Plattenfirma Constellation Records, dass der Sänger im Krankenhaus verstarb.
