Vor ziemlich genau 20 Jahren hat Lloyd Cole sein Solo-Album "Don't get weird on me, Babe" veröffentlicht. Es war der Versuch, sich musikalisch noch weiter als zuvor von den Commotions zu entfernen. Dazu bat der britische Songwriter sogar ein ganzes Orchester ins Studio. Auch wenn das Projekt kommerziell nicht von allzu viel Erfolg hatte, in seinem Oevre bleibt das Album außergewöhnlich.
