The Hip Hop Church ist nicht der pfiffige Name einer Rapgruppe, sondern tatsächlich eine Kirche in Harlem, New York. Gegründet hat sie Kurtis Walker, der unter dem Namen Kurtis Blow zum ersten kommerziell erfolgreichen Rapper in den USA wurde. Heute wird der studierte Priester 60 Jahre alt.
