Am 26. November 1966 öffnete sich in Austin, Texas das dritte Auge der Musikgeschichte. Das Debütalbum der 13th Floor Elevators führte nicht nur als erstes das Word „Psychedlic“ im Titel, es bildete mit einem von Tonkrug-Blubbern, Roky Ericksons einzigartiger Stimme und einer extrem tighten Band geprägten Sound auch den zugehörigen Soundtrack. Ein einstündiges Geburtstags-Ständchen für ein epochales Album.
